I'm in the process of moving to Newtown this week, so it was only fitting that I hit the main strip, King Street, in search of a new watering hole. What I discovered upstairs at The Newtown Hotel was more than I had bargained for in the best way possible. Let's take a look at Animal Bar, shall we?
It's tough being a renter at times. Sure, the invention of the 3M hook was possibly the most amazing moment of my decorating life, but it still left my love for wallpaper completely unrequited. Thankfully, the wall decal has arrived to make my interior dreams come true. And the ones in today's post can be nabbed right now.
Some weeks in blog land are slow, while others - like the one I just experienced - are as mad as ever. This week saw The Life Creative pop up all over the internet; in magazines, on other blogs and in email blasts. It's an exciting moment for a blogger like me - and does mean that the industry is starting to recognise your efforts (praise the Lord!).[line]
OK, confession time: I've lived in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney for over five years and prior to last week I had not step foot inside Live This at The Spot in Randwick. I know, the shame! The good news though, is that now that I've discovered this local gem, it's going to be a long summer of homewares purchasing (how much do I have to buy before the shame goes away?).
I'd never quite describe myself as traditional, so it should come as no surprise that when Christmas rolls around, I'm all for abandoning red, green and gold and heading toward hue that veers away from the typical. I've long been a fan of blue and white Christmas tree decor and this year, I'm pleased to say, shall be no different.
I do love to get my craft on - and nothing brings out my inner Martha Stewart than the festive season. I'm also rather fond of making christmas cards and gift tags - probably because they're pretty easy to throw together and you can really put your own stamp on them (literally...using a stamp!).
I love a feelgood moment - especially when it involves decorating and homewares. Throw in my fave store for on-trend affordables (that's IKEA) and you've got a decor transformation dreams are made of. A few weeks ago, a 25-strong IKEA team from the Rhodes and Tempe stores got together to do-over two family suites at Bear Cottage in Manly, making the lives of the families who stay at the hospice all the more comfortable!
