Last year I got a memory foam mattress from Ergoflex and it changed my life. No springs in your back was the best part of the whole thing, though truth be told it took a little while to get used to. You can read the full review of the mattress here, though a pretty good indicator of how good it is, is the fact that I still own it (and am still getting a good night's sleep to this day!).
As reported on the blog earlier in the week, The Block is back for a whole new season. Rumoured to be called Blocktagon (due to the shape of the building under renovation), the show's judging panel are back for what's set to be a very challenging season. With room reveal criticism and truth bombs on the agenda, Shaynna Blaze says that despite some contestants taking her feedback badly (I'm looking at you, Dea) she still plans to tell it like it is.
It will come as no shock to you that The Life Creative adores local design. We've been championing it on the blog for years now, and Etsy is one place we draw endless inspiration from. There's so much Aussie talent there and you need to take a look at it as soon as humanly possible (check out this post on concrete decor that's filled with Etsy finds).
I was speaking to someone the other day who declared that concrete homewares were on the way out. Internally, I went through a series of emotions (almost like the 12 stages of grief). I felt angry, sad, shocked, dismayed and of course, it ended in denial. In fact, I'm so far in denial that I'm going to outrightly declare that concrete homewares are still 100% on trend - and with no signs of going away.
Just when you thought it was safe to go out this spring and enjoy life beyond your TV set, The Block's new season is back - landing at the end of the month - and is set to have us all glued to our screens again. The ratings had hit a slump during the last season of the show, promoting the creators to adopt a back-to-basics direction for the show's 11th season, which is rumoured to be called The Blocktagon.
Welcome to a brand new section of the blog we're calling #TheWeekendWrap. This is your one-stop shop for new product releases, essential reading and other goss that just isn't juicy enough to fit into a dedicated post throughout the week.
When your partner’s an interior designer, you’d expect that they’d always win an argument when it came to what furniture and homewares to put in the house.
The Block’s resident nice guy Darren Palmer has a foolproof philosophy to navigate through possible decor disagreements with partner Olivier. Take a leaf out of his book the next time this conversation comes up at home!
Every evening when my partner gets home from work, it usually signals the end of my blogging day. I used to walk out of my office and into the living room and pop on the TV at this point, but it’s getting to the stage where I’ve seen every episode of Judge Judy that’s airing on Arena. Hashtag #boring.
Flicking through magazines, it's often the dark and moody interiors that capture our interest. It used to be the bright and white rooms, with light flooding in and oodles of sunshine. But as designers like Abigail Ahern began showing us the beauty of a more masculine colour palette a few years back, we've all started to crave them in our homes.
