Not long after I attended the Temple & Webster styling workshop at iscd a few weeks back, Karen McCartney and the team from T&W were kind enough to ask me if i'd like to spend an afternoon at their headquarters, to which I replied (to quote Geri Halliwell in the acclaimed movie Spice World) "Is the Pope a Catholic?" Needless to say, I had kittens, died from excitement, resuscitated myself and high-tailed it to their Alexandria warehouse for a behind the scenes tour - camera in hand!
It's safe to say that I'm addicted to sugar. If I didn't run regularly I'm not sure in what state my body would be in (actually, a pretty blissful one). In any event, I was delighted to pop into the wonder that is Sparkle Cupcakery at the weekend and finally try one of their fantastic cupcake creations. I'm going to keep it real and admit that they're going to be a staple in my diet from here on in because they're that good. And on a sidenote, I will need to run more.
I've been ordering my groceries online lately. Advantage: I have more time of a weekend to do store tours. Downside: I don't get my in-person food fix! A trip to the Entertainment Quarter Village Markets was about to change all that, as I wandered through this extravaganza of fresh produce, flowers and random wares. It was the start of a blossoming romance!
Confession time: I've lived in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney for well over six years and prior to last weekend I had not been to The Norfolk. Even after its killer makeover in December 2010 (I know, cuff me and throw away the key). Plenty of people had told me how much I would love the beer garden there - and after sitting in it for a few hours recently, they weren't wrong. Its laid-back, mismatched retro vibe is right up my alley (as are the cocktails)!
