Discovering the Best Craft Website Ever!

I’m not going to lie; I’ve dabbled in just about every craft know to man (and woman) over the years – but I never quite grasped how amazing these crafts were until I saw some of the things you could produce through knitting, sewing, stitching and crochet. Let’s look at some of the images I’ve discovered from my fave new craft website. They will, seriously, make you want to craft immediately!

Below: My heart is racing over those felt cup holders. I could cry right now over how stunning they are! And those placemats. Good Lord – give me those place mats!

Purl Bee is the name of the glorious website that’s currently making me lose my mind – introduced to me by my friend Carolyn, who has recently gotten back into knitting. I myself have tried knitting before, but I think sewing is probably more my style; I love making cushions and other bibs and bobs.

The Purl Bee website was started in October 2006 by New Yorker Purl Soho – and as you can see in these images, it’s full of inspiring craft activities you can try yourself. The photography on this site is just so stunning that words barely do it justice. The photos alone make me want to get the sewing machine out and start creating right now.

The website is split into six categories too: Knit, Sew, Crochet, Embroider, Weave and Craft – each of which has an abundance of activities you can have a go at – and with easy tutorials.

Above: My obsession with felt has just reached boiling point thanks to the image on the left. Also, the throw on that bed, complete with neon lines, is the stuff crafting dreams are made of.

  • I suspected you’d say The Purl Bee! They are indeed fantastic, their ideas are largely very practical and always divine. I’m more of a crocheter than a knitter, but whenever I see one of their knitting posts I immediately save it!
