The Weekend Wrap: Energy Efficient Appliances, the Best Local Cafes and More
Welcome to The Weekend Wrap; the post that contains all the best design news, essential reading and interiors goss from the week gone by.
These snippets and gems weren’t juicy enough to be feature in a dedicated post on the blog, so they’ve been given some love here. It’s the best way for you to get the lowdown on what’s going on – and get it all in one place. Enjoy!
Investing in Energy Efficient Appliances
The hefty appliances in your kitchen and laundry (think your fridge and dishwasher) can chew through electricity like there’s no tomorrow. It might be wise to consider energy-efficient appliances instead. The team over at Homes to Love have a great article on this very topic, so why not jump on over and give it a read?
Designer Ceramics by Young in the Mountains
If you’re a lover of gorgeous ceramics (guilty as charged), then you’re going to lose your mind over these creations from California-based creatives Young in the Mountains. Rue Mag wrote a really cool piece on them and their design journey, and it’s well worth a read. Click here to see more.
Melbourne Girl names the best Local Cafes
The best blog for all things Melbourne and beyond, Melbourne Girl, has named the 21 best spots to nosh in ol’ Melbourne town. Being a newbie to this gorgeous city, I’m making it my mission to work through all of these over the coming months. I wonder how many you’ve been to. Drop me a comment below and let me know once you’ve checked out the article.
Shall we eat our feelings one last time?
It’s been a rough winter for calorie consumption, I won’t lie. I’ve been eating pretty much everything I see, so needless to say it’s time to calm it down as spring hits. That said, I’m pretty sure I can squeeze in one more indulgent treat – and this Salted Caramello Mousse is the one. Time to get my partner baking this weekend (I am terrible in the kitchen). Get the recipe here.
Get your nostrils on new Circa Home goodness
One of my fave candle brands, Circa Home, have re-launched their brand with new-look packaging and fragrances just in time for spring.
The brand has also expanding their range to include the all-new Electric Wax Warmer and Scented Soy Wax Melts. I got sent the electric wax warmer and I can tell you first-hand that it is utterly amazing. Get more details on the range here.
National Op Shop Week is here!
Red Cross, Salvos Stores and Vinnies are just some of the leading charity op shops involved in this year’s National Op Shop Week (August 23rd-30th). Along with many other charity stores, they receive millions of donated items every year.
Op Shop Week 2015 will be launched at 10.30am on Sunday August 23rd at Vinnies, 583 Church St, North Parramatta.
At the event, students from St Patrick’s Marist College in Dundas will also be putting on a short fashion show wearing op shop purchased outfits.
