Interiors Obsession: Melbourne’s Adelphi Hotel.

It’s pretty common for me to have a few gasp-worthy interiors moments, given some of the spaces I see in Sydney. But nothing quite had me as weak at the knees as the inside of the stunning Adelphi Hotel in Melbourne did. So much so, that I want to get the red eye there right now and roll around on the carpet (who’s with me?).

Located in Flinders lane – just a short stroll from the centre of Melbs, the building Adelphi sits in has been a part of the city’s history since it was built in 1938. Purchased in the 80s and made into a hotel, it was given a welcome rejuvenation from the team at award winning design studio, Hachem, in 2013 – and it hasn’t looked more decadent!

I don’t know where to start with what I love about this space. It’s sophisticated without being stuffy, colourful without being kitsch, wonderfully modern and eclectically cosy! It seems to give a gentle nod to Hollywood regency and New York style all while feeling homely and aspirational.

I want that mesh horse for my home!
