It’s amazing what you can pack into a few days when traveling to Dubai. It’s been a bit non-stop since I got here with the Bloggerati peeps and already we’ve done a tonne of stuff on our itinerary – which for me is probably a good thing otherwise it would be endless Savvy B’s by the pool and massages all day (not exactly cultural, right?).
I have a whole post coming on the hotel I’m staying in (it is phenomenal) but it’s safe to say that putting me in The Palace Downtown is the best decision ever made by whoever made it, because it is an interior design dream.
In just a day and a half we’ve toured the back streets of Old Dubai, ridden in an abra (boat), eaten with a Sheik (floor dining is a trend I need to bring back to Australia), spent time at the aquarium, visited the tallest building in the world (Burj Khalifa) and had a divine dinner where we all collectively sighed with exhaustion.
As you can see in the snaps in the post, the weather has been set to ‘sublime’ and the view from my window is nothing short of mind-blowing. There’s a fountain show that happens every night (photos of that coming soon) and on my tour of the back streets of Dubai I even spotted some graffiti – and you know how much I adore street art!
Over the next few days we have loads more things on the agenda, including a Desert Safari evening, Karting experience at Dubai Autodrome and a whole lot more. I can’t wait to show you snaps of the hotel, though. They’ll be hitting the blog Monday.
