Forget Linen: Affordable Bamboo Bedding is Here
Forget about linen – that’s so 2015. Bamboo quilt cover sets are the latest and greatest material you can pop on your bed. And the brand I’m showcasing today is giving a set away in this post! Don’t ever say I don’t give you anything 😉
With Autumn incoming, it’s time to layer up your bed again. Gone are the lightweight sheets and on comes the quilts and doonas. I personally couldn’t be happier, because I love the cold, but I know I’m in the minority there.
If you feel winter blues on the horizon, why not find some joy in rejuvenating your bed? I always love to change my bedding look each season, so now is the time for Stella to get her groove back. And what better material for Stella than glorious bamboo?
Bamboo Bedding with Feel-Good Factor
Louise Beaton is the talented creative behind Loom Living. The Aussie brand, based out of Sydney, specialises in eco-friendly bamboo bedding. The products in the online store are not only gorgeous to look at, but they come with the added bonus of being kind to the environment. It’s a win-win you need to experience!
“I’m not an eco-warrior, but I do have concerns for the planet and try to do my small part,” Louise tells me, of what drew her to want to work with bamboo as a material. “For the eco-conscience consumer bamboo ticks many boxes. It needs very little water, grows very quickly, and needs no pesticides – making it naturally organic”.
Of course, from a purely slipping-into-bed perspective, the bamboo makes your entire snooze feel super soft. Not to mention the fact that it’s hypoallergenic and moisture wicking. The thread count Loom Living uses allows your skin to breathe as well, making is so so comfortable to sleep in.
Like Sleeping on Clouds, For Real!
The feedback from customers has been all positive, as you’d expect. Not just because of the bamboo material, but because the four colours on offer are all rather soothing on the eye (not to mention easy to mix and match!).
“My customer always comment on the softness and the lightness of the bamboo bedlinen,” Louise explains. “Like sleeping on clouds, was one comment”.
Influenced by the slow living, hygge and wabi sabi philosophies, Louise has stayed true to the brand’s clean and understated aesthetic since she launched back in 2017. She tells me that her own person style is very much aligned with the look and feel of Loom Living, which makes it easy not to get caught up in of-the-minute bedding trends.
“I don’t like overly fussy design, and I don’t always want to do what everyone else is doing. So I have chosen to start with designs and a colour palette that is both current yet classic”.
This Local Legend is a One-Woman Show
Having studied clothing design and having worked in textiles for over 20 years, Louise now operates almost all facets of the Loom Living business. Which makes her a legend in my eyes (it aint easy, trust me!). She wears the hats of business owner, CEO, designer, marketing manager, social media coordinator and many, many more.
“I do all the social media on a daily basis. I answer emails, follow up with the factory for any stock needed. I’m currently following up on a repeat order of the bamboo fabric and checking all the specs and CMT production. I pack and send orders. I attempt to write blogs. And I’m always tweaking the website!”
Not only can you support this local legend by following her on Instagram here, but you can also show your support (and treat yourself) by entering the competition below. Louise has been kind enough to offer up a bamboo quilt cover set for you to win, so simply follow the prompts and cross your fingers!

I’m always a white bedding gal, but that Ash Grey is so soothing and perfect for adding some dimension and depth to my room without throwing the neutral colour scheme off. People think I’m weird when I say grey is my favourite colour, but it’s true! In fact, I think there’s a song lyric about that somewhere… anyway, also super keen to try out this bamboo fabric, it sounds dreamy 🙂
Kathy Reed
Dreamy Indigo for me. I’ve been stuck in a ‘white rut of neutrality’ for my bed linen for years now, so Indigo will give my bed dressing a vibrant lift that I can still co-ordinate beautifully with my white pieces.

I haven’t used bamboo bedding for a number of years. The last was a beautiful blanket but it was to hot and heavy for the Tropics so i gave it away. I would like to try sheets to change my opinion as i usually use a brand called Muse.

Tracey Maruszak
I can’t go past the simplicity of white. As my mood changes I can add any colour to compliment it. With my children now teenagers, even though they can still be quite grubby, they keep their grubbiness out of my room these days!! Bring on white!!!!! Lol

White because it looks so crispy and fresh and is the perfect canvas to add colour to with vibrant cushions and throws.
