Discovering new decor brands is one of my favourite pastimes. When it’s kids decor, it’s even better. Although I don’t have a little one of my own, it doesn’t stop me from experiencing extreme levels of cluckiness when I see awesome products for kids rooms.
The brand I’m showcasing for you on the blog today is kids room kit at its best, and something tells me that my nieces and nephews (I have 9 in total) are going to be enjoying some products from this brand very soon if I have anything to do with it. Better be nice to Uncle Chris, kids; Christmas is not far away!
Oh – and if you’re in the process of putting your baby nursery together, this post will help.
Meet Baud and Co Kids Beanbags
The one-woman show behind Baud and Co is Kris Baud. She’s a mum of two who created the brand back in 2014 when it was time for her to get back into the workforce. Keen to pursue a more creative career after years in a marketing role, she decided to trade in the nine to five and hasn’t looked back.
The reason she decided to start creating the unique kids beanbags that Baud and Co is known for, is because there were barely any like them on the market at the time.
“Definitely none with a pom at the top,” Kris explains, pointing out the gorgeous embellishment that makes her kids beanbags so special. “I think the novelty of having something a bit different appeals to many”.
Completely Customisable
Not only is it the dazzling pom poms atop these triangle beanbags that makes Baud and Co creations so special, but there’s the added handmade factor, and custom-made design options. Kris consults with many clients to create an individual design for their kids spaces (selecting preferred fabric to pom pom colour), resulting in a beanbag that’s truly one-of-a-kind.
“I get the best feedback from people,” Kris tells me. “Customers are incredibly kind to send me pics, and also writing thank you emails. It’s actually been one of the unexpected but delightful things about starting this business”.
Based in the Melbourne suburb of Bayside and supported by two machinists, Kris’ humble business is taking the world by storm. With a floor cushion on the way, which will round out the Baud and Co collection, Kris is excited for what’s to come next and is especially grateful for all of the local support she’s received.
“I’ve had lots of creatives, stylists, interior designers and other small business owners put Baud and Co out there into the world of interiors and for me, that’s been a real gift”.

I have been racking my brain trying to work out what to get Henry for his 1st birthday next month. Then I saw these gorgeous bean bags on instagram! They are just perfect!! And there is the perfect spot for it in his room under his book shelves – his own little reading nook! There are so many cute designs but I think my favourite is Oh my stripe. Love it with the light denim base in the photo on the blog. Cute taboot!!!!!
I am in love with Yellow All The Way! The gorgeous yellow stripes remind me of my son who is my sunshine ❤️
It’s the pindot/ denim combo all the way for me! Gorgeous colours and enough non-white spaces so any dirty marks the kids make wont show too easily. Love the rainbow pom pom too 🙂
A massive kudos to you Kris, such a wonderful story and products to boot! It feels like I’m trying to pick which one of my children is my favourite though as all of the designs are just so unique and stylish so it’s hard to choose just one! But if I have to pick it would be Going Dotty for its sweet and timeless look. I can see many happily ever afters being shared atop a Baud and Co bean bag.
I am just in the process of bringing my little nursery plans to life for baby #2 and didn’t realise how badly I needed a beanbag in there until I saw this post! My favourite is the “Going Dotty” I love the light speckle of black dots on the white background and the pom pom is divine. I can just see myself in it, reading stories to my new little person or just sharing cuddles. A perfect addition to any kids room that will be loved for years to come
I’m seriously crushing on the “Dot On” pattern. Not only is it tres stylish, it looks Vegemite-fingerprint-friendly, which is totally necessary at our place (alas, poor couch).
Life’s ‘bean’ a little hectic with a new bub in tow,
But if I won the gorgeous ‘Dot On’, little Miss Three will put on a very happy show!!!
The Scandi Grid is my fave design because it is gender neutral and both my boy and girl will love to read on it.
Pink floral/shearling…after two mischievous (but much loved) boys, it’s been a blessing to have a little girl, embracing all that is pretty in pink (even if it is just until she demands otherwise).
Pindot Denim. It screams I’m a boy! I feel like with my new Bub there isn’t a lot of cute decor on the market for boys! Love your local designs and craftsmanship!
