I was going to kick this post off by saying that black and gold homewares were my fave colour combo. But truth be told, I change my mind all the time.
That’s the best part about keeping the base palette of your home fairly neutral though, right? You can layer some blingy gold accessories in when you want. And when you tire of that, you can take them out and bring in another hue.
#sorrynotsorry, but I’m all for maximalism and constant updates in a home. As long as you do it on the cheap. Nobody wants to be spending thousands every season changing up the look of their space entirely (though I do recommend a quarterly home refresh, as detailed here).
Anyway, today I wanted to show you a collection of my fave black and gold homewares finds. Many are new to market, and some are classics that’ll never get old.
The Black and Gold Homewares Edit
Now, if you’re wondering what to pair black and gold with, neutral tones like white and charcoal grey are a wise move. But don’t feel like it’s gotta be completely subdued. As you can see in the divine shot above from OZ Design (love that Polly armchair), bringing in some hot pink can take the look in a more feminine direction.
Navy blue tones are also a winner to introduce here. In this post I showcased the best navy and copper homewares if you’re eager to check that out and drool over the rich blue tones mixed with metallics.
If you’re a mono kind of decorator and prefer to keep it black-to-white, the hero shot in this post (via Amalfi) shows you how delightful it can be to just have one pop of gold against an otherwise calm backdrop.
But really, half the fun is playing around with colours at home, so don’t be afraid to experiment!
