The Unexpected Device that’ll Transform your daily Routine

Every evening when my partner gets home from work, it usually signals the end of my blogging day. I used to walk out of my office and into the living room and pop on the TV at this point, but it’s getting to the stage where I’ve seen every episode of Judge Judy that’s airing on Arena. Hashtag #boring.

Brought to you by Nuffnang and Bose.

We’ve mixed up our evening routine of late, leaving the tele off and pumping some tunes while we cook dinner (notice I say ‘we’, but truth be told I don’t do much of the cooking).

The unexpected device that’s transformed our evening culinary adventures is the Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker. It goes on every evening at 5.30pm, while my partner and I debrief the day with a bit of wine time and some Spotify shuffling. It usually stays on until we finish dinner, which is actually taking place at the dinner table these days and not on the couch (miracles do happen).

What I like about the Bose speaker first and foremost is its design. I’ve had other portable speakers in my home in the past and they don’t always look very nice. This one stays on my dining table most of the time because it actually looks lovely. I just plug it into the charging cradle when the battery gets low (you’ll get up to 10 hours battery life out of it), but for the most part, you can leave it out and make it work with your decor.

You can connect the speaker to your computer or phone using Bluetooth (we do both). It’s super easy, even for someone like me – who is completely clueless when it comes to technology. The only issue my partner and I have is deciding on the music (I want to pump to pop tunes, he wants to rock out some hipster music lol), so we usually take turns each evening.

It’s weird to say that a device can transform your daily routine but it’s true for my household. I think it’s really easy to get in a rut of watching TV and zoning out (we used to eat on the sofa ALL the time), but pumping some music and talking out your day is a great way to stay connected, with a little Beyoncé going in the background for good measure.

The Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker is $299.
