Marble decor might not be going anywhere, but it has been given a slight makeover this year. Coloured marble is one of 2016’s stunning new homewares trends, and I’ve found 11 pieces for your home that you’ll probably lose your mind over.
I’ve long been obsessed with marble myself. I did a recent post on this divine material on the blog to show you that it’s definitely still on-trend. But as with most things that become popular, we find new ways to bring it into the home and coloured marble is now making its presence known.
The other thing I love about marble in general is its ability to bring a sense of luxury and sophistication to a scene at home. This year’s hottest interior design trend, Everyday Opulence, is all about making moments at home feel high-end, and this is exactly what marble does.
When I spoke to Inside Out magazine late last year about the trends to keep and retire in 2016, stylist Danielle Selig also agreed on marble’s timelessness.
“Marble is definitely a strong trend that we don’t really see going anywhere anytime soon,” Danielle told me. “We are seeing a trend towards coloured marble, particularly green, pinks and black, coming through in place of the classic Carrara”.
