Copper is the metallic of 2015.
Move over silver and forget gold. Bronze has even tried to get in on the action too. But when you see imagery like the photos in today’s post, why would you veer toward any other metallic when copper is so undoubtably amazing?!
The new candles you see here are from the divine Aussie brand Cocolux Australia, who have filled on-trend copper vessels with coconut wax to create what’s gotta be the decor marriage of the year. The best part, of course, is that you can win some by entering my competition below (you’re welcome). But before we do that I think it’s best I tell you why these new candles are so amazing.
Cocolux candles are scented with the finest fragrances and hand poured from clean burning coconut wax. Unlike many other waxes, production is sustainable and free from toxins, the use of pesticides and the need for deforestation. This approach gives the fragrant marvels an extra (and very eco-friendly) edge, don’t you think?
The copper vessels were designed to be re-used as vases, containers or planters once all of the candle wax has melted, so you get the scent of a candle and then the extra homewares piece at the end – bonus!
Created and poured on the NSW Central Coast by friends, Meisha Styrkowski and Natasha Nicholson, I reckon Cocolux brings a bit of paradise to your interior (and you can’t go wrong with copper, let’s face it!). As you can see in the pics, the candles come in two collections; Sol and Luna (white label and black label respectively).

The tropical gardenia would be the one for me…. the sweet perfume of the gardenia takes me back to my childhood home where on summer afternoons after primary school I’d be sitting along mums garden bed of gardenia, arms dripping red juice from a piece of ice cold crunchy watermelon. Those were the days of long summers with daylight savings, where a kid could play outside for many more hours, running, jumping and doing cartwheels. Being called in for tea on dusk and begging for just 5 minutes more playtime….. Oh those were the days….Extraordinary how a smell can revive such good memories.
Aren’t these the best things created since sliced bread? Island Fig, Cassis & Peach is the stand out scent for me. Heaven in a candle

These candles are simply stunning. Tonka bean and lime zest and grapefruit and lemongrass sound amazing, both fresh and fruity scents with the smoothness of coconut, YUM!!
