Country Road Summer - Kitchenware

The Country Road Summer Range is a bit Scandi Candy

Stunning imagery from Country Road hit my inbox a few days ago and as always tends to happen, I got a little overwhelmed with joy and rapture.

Whoever is in charge of the trends and product releases there needs to have a street parade dedicated to them, because I’m beyond blown away by the new summer pieces. The best way to describe the range is ‘Scandi Candy’; a term I’ve stolen from my friend Jessi at Dreamcatcher Designs and one that is totally fitting for this collection.

Above: Everything about this shot is dreamy. I want the shelving, I want the glassware and I need those tea towels.

Above and below: I may be trying to reduce my carbs in the lead-up to my Dubai holiday, but these gorgeous baskets are making me want baguettes. Lots of baguettes.

Featuring a lot of monochrome moments, the new range plays with hue but in a very subtle way. Everything from bedding to kitchenware, towels to cushions, is decked out in black and white, a host of other neutrals and with just a hint here and there of chalky pinks, corals and blues. It’s a very pretty and serene colour palette going into summer, don’t you think?

I also love the pattern play that’s going on here. If you’re going to keep the colour calm you gotta up the texture and pattern – and the team at Country Road know this all too well. Gingham check is abundant in this collection, but larger and more graphic patterns also get their moment – as does some more vibrant colours, so I’m told.

What’s your fave piece from the Country Road summer collection? If I had to lock in just one, I think those storage bags/buckets/baskets are good-golly-miss-Molly amazing!

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
