This Week’s Top Design and Decor Finds, April 28

How has your week been?

I would love to have a week where I can tell you how quiet it’s been, but sadly the glorification of ‘busy’ continues. Interior decorating, preparing for a client photoshoot, and writing freelance style articles has dominated my week. And you know what the result is? Having no time to window-shop glorious design and decor finds in-person.

So this week, online shopping it will have to be. Which, for a lot of design and decor, is a completely reasonable approach (and one that keeps you out of the terrible rain we’ve been having in Melbourne). I shouldn’t call the recent rain terrible, actually, because I love the rain and the cold. But it is hard to get out and about when it’s teaming down.

But I digress. Let’s check out what’s making my heart skip a beat in the world of homewares this week…

This Week’s Top Design and Decor Finds, April 28

For the love of paris emerald unlimited print black and white female head art next to maroon armchair

Gasp-Worthy Wall Art

Both images above are from the sublime Aussie art brand, 4 the Love of Paris. Their works are quite varied in terms of the imagery. From female forms to butterflies, giraffes and beyond – there’s a bit of something for everyone. It’s all pretty dreamy and you can see more of it here.

Floral Wallpaper worth Considering

Everyone gets so scared of wallpaper, but I applied it to a wall in a client’s home recently and it looks absolutely spectacular. I must encourage you to give wallpaper a go. And if you have the guts, try a large-scale floral scenario like this one from Murals Wallpaper. Aint it lovely?

huxter soaps nautical bar of soap with octopus and crab illustration

Soaps too good to Scrub with

It is my dream to have a gigantic glass container in my bathroom full to the brim with packaged soaps. Don’t ask me why, but I’ve always had an obsession with beautiful soaps. I’d never use them, of course. They’d be purely for show. It will happen one day – and it’ll start with these gorgeous nautical numbers from Huxter.

tanda modern melbourne candle next to black ceramic teapot

The Sweet Smell of Melbourne

TANDA is one of my fave candle brands in the entire world. Their new-release Melbourne candle is conjuring up all sorts of Melbournian pride I never knew I had inside me! You really should check out their website if you’re yet to take a whiff of their glorious scents. I have some of the candles in concrete vessels too and they rock!

annabel trends best mum in the world mug mothers day flatlay styling

Gorgeous Mother’s Day Gifts

I love me a brand who do amazing flatlay styling. Doesn’t it just make you want to get your hands on the products even more when the styling is so good? Annabel Trends is the brand I speak of, and their website is jam-packed with glorious gift ideas for Mother’s Day that are well worth exploring. You’ll probably end up bagging a bargain for yourself!

pink and yellow neon pear lights from yellow octopus

The Cutest Night Lights Ever

Something must be in the water of late, because I’m feeling clucky around-the-clock. I think these LED pear night lights from Yellow Octopus are about to push me over the edge and onto the hunt for the perfect surrogate. How cute are these for a little girl or boy’s room? I’m hooked.

cockatoo in flight tea towel from the cockatoo collection

Cocky Tea Towels

I think tea towels are fast becoming the new cushion. There are so many adorable and quirky designs on the market right now that it seems almost criminal not to stock up on them. This bright and bold design from Cockatoo Collection stood out for me this week because it’s equal parts colourful and chic. I need one, two or nine. Any number will do.
