On the hunt for that one piece of furniture that’s going to complete your living room, bedroom or study? Look no further. I’ve found 8 stunning designer armchairs from across the country, and you’ll definitely find it hard to select just one favourite.
I’ve been on the hunt for a new armchair the last few months, actually. The one I have isn’t really working anymore and it’s become a bit of a daybed for the cats. I bought it on impulse a few years ago and it was definitely a rookie decorating mistake I’ve learnt my lesson from.
There’s something wonderfully personal about an armchair, don’t you think? A space that’s entirely yours. A space you can curl up in with a good book, a cuppa – or a red wine – and just be with yourself. No sharing allowed, just a moment of solitude for you (and possibly a pet if yours are as persistent for cuddles as mine).
Here are 8 of my faves and why I adore them. I hope you find one here you love, too.
8 Designer Armchairs that won’t break the bank
The Calam Chair you see above is from Norsu Interiors and I adore it. Wonderfully soft, it has a calm enough colour story that you can keep it subdued with surrounding accessories or give it a bright pop if that’s the way you swing. I also love the high back – perfect for relaxing in.

1 – The Smith Chair in Blush is $849 from Cranmore Home. I’m living for the sling leather in this piece and the colourway would bring just the right amount of softness to a space.
2 – The wide, deep seat in this Berlin Armchair from Clickon Furniture makes it an absolute dream for snuggling up in. Priced at $895, it exudes simplicity and sophistication.
3 – The Eb & Ive Santa Cruz Chair gives a generous nod to all things bohemian. It’s $219.95 and is calling out for a faux fur to adorn it. A real rattan delight if you ask me.
4 – Great for a bedroom or small space, this Scandi-inspired Alexis Armchair is $289 from Retrojan. Its armless design means it won’t dominate the room. Simplicity at its best.
5 – The Jamie Leather Armchair from Dellis Furniture is a more masculine piece, bringing with it a sturdy formality. Ideal as a pair, they’re $1495 each, but well worth the splurge.
6 – Part Hamptons, part African, the Camps Bay Armchair from Vavoom Emporium is Danish design at its best. For $1099, it makes a big impact and looks as comfy as ever.
I couldn’t let you go without sharing another standout find from my online armchair hunt.
The piece you see above gave me some serious heart palpitations and is a designer dream. Featuring Tasmanian oak and walnut plug details, the Rafferty Chair by Christopher Blank is available from Handkrafted as features the most stunning navy blue leather cushions. The tufted button detail brings visual interest to this piece, too, and I can’t get enough of it.
