After Kids Room Ideas on a Budget? This Post has you Sorted

I returned from my trip to Sydney a few weeks back with more than just warm and fuzzies over how great my old home city is. I also came back with a loot of craft and homewares goodies from Spotlight – who sponsored our Blogger brainstorm session on the Sunday afternoon – and who’ve really been upping the ante on the home decor front of late.

The key piece I was losing my marbles over was the divine Marquee Letter Light you see above. Especially great for kids rooms, this number is battery operated and you have the option of getting creative with it and decorating it with glitter, paint, paper – you name it. It’s great for personalising little ones’ spaces, so I gifted it to my niece before I jetted back to Melbourne and it’s sitting pretty in her bedroom now.

I jumped onto the Spotlight website and discovered that there are loads more pieces for kids bedrooms that you may not have realised they stock. I’ve included six standout pieces below, which can add some on-trend style to your space without breaking the bank.

Top Row: Stockholm Kids Chair | Star Tab Top Curtain | Gelati Multicolour Bath Towel
Bottom Row: Bouclair Adelie Bird Cushion | Zoological Lamp | Craft Woodland Fox Decoration

I think in kids spaces, it’s wise to invest some money in base pieces of furniture and keep the accessories fairly affordable. These sorts of homewares will move in and out of their room as they transition from toddler to child to tween to teen (and beyond), so spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on decorative items here seems kinda mad, don’t you think?

  • Gorgeous ideas! Love the lights!

  • Great ideas Chris – I think it’s important when decorating your kids rooms that you don’t make them too young as they grow up so quickly – you want versatile pieces that will age well with the kids!

  • Love your picks Chris – Those little chairs are especially cute!

  • Oh wow! That light is adorable and I love that it’s battery operated. We don’t have many power points in my daughters room so this would be perfect.

  • Great ideas Chris, I have kept the little marquee light and even my hubby loves it! x
