It goes without saying that I’m a lover of bold hue and a big fan of prints. So when the news of the Kmart August Living range hit my inbox, it’s safe to say that I went into a fit that involved the sort of high-pitched squealing no grown man should ever take part in.
But that’s the effect Kmart has on me. If you’re just as addicted to decorating as I am (take the test here), and you love to bag a bargain, then you’re going to go equally batty over the affordable and on-trend pieces that have just landed at Kmart today.
With so much variety in this range, there really is something for everyone. So let me show you some of the best bits from the new collection, so you too can lose your mind!
The Kmart August Living Collection
Inspired by international design trends, the team at Kmart have taken cues from Cuba, Hamptons and Scandinavia for their August homewares drop. The items in the range are fresh and contemporary, easily adaptable to fit in with your existing interior design scheme, and are versatile enough that you can take them from room to room.
Daring prints are prominent in the new Cuba collection, with palm leaf motifs a big standout. Alongside those, bold colours like emerald green are used with absolute abandon, which taps into this year’s hottest interiors trend, Colour Carnevale (more on that here). You’ll also notice a big dose of black and white used too, to bring a sense of calm to an otherwise vibrant palette.
The Classic Cove range is the collection for lovers of a more subdued colour story. It taps into a Hamptons vibe with tranquil teal tones sitting alongside natural materials like wood, marble and cork. Pops of brass bring in a little bling, but the whole look is rather calm and considered.
