Must-See: New Wall Art for Spring from Wallstudio

Wallstudio has been the go-to destination for vibrant and on-trend wall art since it kicked off back in 2011. Today I’m delighted to share with you a brand new batch of ready-to-hang canvas art from this local biz, which is perfect for bright and bold spring decorating. Cue the romantic music – I’m about to swoon!

When I ask Janette Baker – the talented Creative behind Wallstudio – what inspires her to create such stunning wall art, she’s quick to tell me that it’s the experimental element of the creative process that gets her excited.

“I love getting the paint brushes and sketching pad out and messing around,” Janette says. “It gives me the opportunity to indulge in my love of creating mixed media art”.

Of course, as with any artistic endeavour, there’s a lot of trial and error involved in the process – and Janette works over many of her ideas until she nails them.

“A lot of attempts will come to nothing; canvasses painted over, pages ripped out of my sketch book,” Janette explains. “But the great thing about having a graphic design background is that when I find something is working I can layer it up and add some graphic elements until I’m happy with it”.

The graphic elements in the new Spring range of canvases is what has me the most interested and intrigued. Many of the new pieces feel 3D (the Dreamweaver in particular) and the colour palette’s and patterns feel fresh and exciting.

“Going into summer I think we are moving more away from tropical and more into desert themes,” Janette tells me of the new range. “Think cactus, Palm Springs, aqua water against earthy tones etc.”.

I personally can’t get enough of these affordable new pieces and would love to hear your thoughts on them in the comments below. Which is your fave?
