I’m falling for Macrame so strongly that my other decor loves (cushions and candles) are starting to suspect an affair. But what’s a homewares obsessive to do when you’re faced with the divine macrame gems in today’s post? Fess up to a wandering eye and ask for forgiveness?!
These macrame beauties are the work of local biz Dreamcatcher Designs. The babe behind the brand is Jessi Deakin – and she won’t mind me calling her a babe because we studied design together at ISCD and have since become fab friends (we bonded over a love of cheese – as you do!).
Macrame Plant Hangers from Dreamcatcher Designs
A boho gal in every sense of the word, Jessi’s macrame wall and plant hangers reflect her own personal style – with embellishments and colours that feel very on-trend.
“My very clever, creative and crafty mother (Mumma Deaks) taught me how to macrame,” Jessi tells me when I ask her how this whole venture came about. “She and I have always made a great team, whereby I come up with these crazy design ideas and she has this insane ability to work out exactly how we can make them happen”.
The crazy idea has translated in stunning pieces that come in black, silver and white colourways – some even featuring a glorious ombre effect (I saw this one in the flesh and it is absolutely mind-blowing!).
“Macrame plant hangers aren’t exclusive to plants either,” Jessi explains. “You can hang anything – from your fruit bowl to a jar of fairy lights!”.
I’m told there are some sorbet scenarios coming for the Spring/Summer season too, which is going to take these timeless beauties in an entirely different direction.
