The new Safari Range by Okay Luna is an Absolute Must-Have

Limited edition art normally comes with the sort of price tag you can’t afford without a personal loan. But in the case of local brand Okay Luna, the ladies behind the art set out to change that mindset from the get-go.

Being first home owners, we wanted to make art that was still limited edition, however without the price tag that usually comes with that,” says Annaliese; one half of the dynamic duo, who’ve been releasing products under the Okay Luna name since Easter 2014.

Her business partner in crime, Kat, who creates the art, tells me that idea for the brand started during a crafternoon together (where all the good ideas happen, right?).

Annaliese asked me to make a painted ceramic tile for her and she loved it so much and thought that others would too,” she explains.

From there, Kat began creating more and more products.

What I adore most about this amazing brand is the colour and vibrancy the pieces bring to a home. With cushions, prints and their latest Safari Scrolls range now available, they’re real statement pieces with a sense of fun.

I love the two main ranges we have done,” Annaliese tells me. “The birds and now the safari have had characters that lots of people really love as they mean something to them”.

The new Safari range is completely handmade, fixed with Australian Tasmanian Oak and features gorgeous pom poms & tassel embellishments. I love the iconic animals the girls have sprawled across them, too; tiger, zebra, flamingo and giraffe.

I seek a lot of inspiration from nature,” Kat tells me of the range. “And I love colour. When I create art for Okay Luna I like to do something a little different…I’m really into traditional Mexican art and the vibrant colours in their designs”.

Besides the obvious talent behind these pieces, this local brand has a strong foundation that’s going to see the girls go far; friendship.

We met on year 7 orientation day for High School and instantly became friends,” Annaliese tells me. “We have been best friends ever since”.

This is one amazing local brand you need to watch, Creatives. And if you’d like to check out their new range, it’s just landed in TLC Shop (woohoo!).
