Shop the Trend: Blue and Gold Homewares

A few weeks back I posted on the glorious homewares combination that is pink and gold. But if you’re not a fan of heading toward such a feminine aesthetic, blue and gold will be right up your alley. This decor match-made-in-heaven affords you the opportunity to add some luxe to your interior, all while retaining a cool and sophisticated vibe. Shall we take a look at the inspiration image and then get on with decking out your pad in this rich colour palette? Let’s do it!

The above snap comes courtesy of Bloomingville and I must confess that my heart skipped a beat when I first saw it. That gorgeous indigo cushion cover is the clear star of the show in this scene, while the gold candle holder is nothing short of breathtaking, either.

When it comes to meshing these two colours together, it’s important to explore the full spectrum of blue hue so you develop and interesting colour story for your home. Using blue as your base and gold as your visual high moment is the trick to getting this look right. Too much gold, unlike with jewellery, is never a good thing in interiors. Show restraint, select your decor gems wisely and you’ll create a scene worthy of a photo shoot!

If you feel the look needs to be grounded a little, or that there’s a bit too much gold and blue going on and you’re feeling overwhelmed, bring in white and soft greys to break up some of the dynamic contrast.

Explore texture, too; like with any setting, the more texture you have, the more interesting and inviting the room will become!

Now onto the blue and gold homewares finds!

  1. I love all of the gorgeous products shown in the inspirational photo from Bloomingville, but of the nine blue and gold homewares featured my two favourites are the gold wire hive tray and the gold wood framework house

    1. The framework house is a stunner Dianne! I really want one for my bedside table. So cute! And Bloomingville is just INSANE in how amazing their decor is. Thanks for your comment 🙂
