Urbaani Homewares: Scandinavian Design Hits Aus and it’s MAJOR!
Life InStyle was pretty epic this year.
I say this year, when in truth I’d never been before, but from all accounts I’m told that the Sydney event was better than what’s gone down in previous years. As a first-time attendee at the industry-only event, I was on the hunt for both blog content and brands to use in my styling work – and boy did it deliver.
I was smiling from ear to ear when I discovered the Urbaani Homewares stand. In all honesty, I could have dived into the stand and rolled around for a few hours – that’s how stunning the range was. And in today’s post, of course, I’m going to share what makes these Scandinavian design pieces so special (as if the photos weren’t enough to give you heart palpitations, right?).
Urbaani Homewares are bringing Scandinavian design Down Under, as the distributor of products from epic Danish brand Lucie Kaas.
As you can see above, tableware and kitchenware makes up a large chunk of their collection, with the gorgeous Lotus Pattern by Arne Clausen being one of my faves. The timeless design is spread across bowls in a variety of colours – giving a generous nod to the traditional while still feeling completely now. I want them and I need them on my table ASAP (you can win some below, by the way!).
The white and mint green tones in the pottery above are also stellar. These gems come from famous designer Christian Schollert and are just as divine today as they were when they landed in the 1930s. The hues are so subtle but the shapes are so interesting, don’t you think?
Furniture and kids gear are also part of the Urbaani product family, along with cushions, soft furnishings, candelabras, gorgeous wooden animals and more. Actually, the little wooden animals, which can be seen up top in the first image, are just so cute it hurts!
As you can see above, the organic cotton bed linen for kids (it comes in both girl and boy motifs) takes things to a whole new level. I cannot get enough of kids spaces that refrain from all the common bells and whistles, and I love that bedding like this can give your little one’s room a quaint, international feel. The colours and patterns are so soothing too, right?
The wall prints and egg holders are also a bit special. It almost makes me want some kids of my own running around (maybe it’s time I build a nursery for the cats?).
There’s not one thing in this Scandinavian design range that I don’t want for my own home.
How about you? What pieces are grabbing your attention?
