This Week’s Creative Finds: Sydney Homewares, Stationery Discoveries and More
This week gone by I have to admit that I got out and about a fair bit. From Newtown to Bondi Junction and beyond, I took in many a Sydney Homewares piece – and added a dash of fashion for good measure. Let me know which find is your fave, Creatives!
| My friend Kevin popped over this week gone by to check out the new digs and brought with him this glorious present from Pentimento in Newtown – a glorious Kobo Candle. The Vetiver and Shaved Vanilla scent is absolute nirvana for the nostrils and I can’t put it down. If you’re yet to experience Kobo, you don’t know what you’re missing!
| I spotted this graffiti-clad building across the railway line from my home over the weekend and scurried over to capture it in all its glory. This is what I love so much about Newtown; an apartment building that so openly embraces street art like this. I desperately want some artwork like this for my living room (I feel a crafternoon coming on).
| I am still going gaga over Eastern Flair in Newtown. They stock SO many homewares and furniture finds – I can’t even begin to tell you! I spotted these owls on Friday afternoon as I wandered through the store. What a cute couple these two make. They look a little bit cheeky if you ask me!
| So I’ve just discovered the decor destination that is Blacksheep on King Street in Newtown. I had a cocktail there on Friday night (delicious, by the way), but was blown away by the stunning decor more than anything else. This ladder, strewn with fairy lights, was just one of the gasp-worthy moments. I’ll see if I can get a full tour there for you soon!
| I firmly believe that you can never have too many greeting cards. This watermelon one from The Local Store in Rozelle jumped out at me (metaphorically, of course) this week gone by. Watermelon stationery and decor has been big this summer, and this felt like the season’s way of telling me it didn’t want to go away just yet.
| I can’t say that I’m an Elvis fan, but I do like me some blue suede shoes. These ones were nabbed from Aldo in Bondi Junction over the weekend and I am loving myself something shocking in them. I never normally get very excited by fashion (cushions always come before clothing) but these are pretty lush.
| I am well aware that I’m probably the only person besides my partner who gushes over my cat, so this photo may bore you to tears, but I had to post it regardless! This is my cat Emi in a rare quiet moment on the couch (she is what some might call ‘energetic’). Granted, it’s not exactly creative, but it is cute… to me, anyway!
| The way to this man’s heart is through some graffiti! Loving this street art in Ripponlea, shared by pikeymikey_ 9 | Obsessing over this watermelon collage from the divine rarepearstudio – so summery! 10 | Given I have a Scrabble letter C tattoo, I couldn’t not share this creative find from elsiesatthebeach – just divine!
