Win the Stunning New Book Eternize + a Gorgeous Flower Print of your Choice

I walked past a florist in Fitzroy last week and declared that I’d missed my calling; that in some other life, I would happily spend my days working as a florist.

Getting up at 5am to hit the flower markets… wrapping roses and get pricked by the thorns. OK, so I came to the realisation that I couldn’t work in a florist, but I’m utterly obsessed by flowers and I’m completely smitten with people who dedicate their lives to making them look so amazing.

Eternize book by Amelia Holland and Lauren Hung

The divine Amelia Holland – who has guest posted on the blog before and is a floral mastermind in her own right – has teamed up with calligrapher Lauren Hung to release a stunning new book, Eternize, and you have a chance to win a copy!

I personally can’t enough of this release and I know you’re going to love it too.

This coffee table book is jam-packed with moody floral photography, with a focus on capturing the beauty of a flower with little distraction.

“I believe that if we slow down enough to really take the time to embrace nature it can really speak to us at a level where spoken words fail us,” Amelia tells me.

Alongside the dreamy images of florals are pages of calligraphy. They feature pen strokes and jagged edges, which further add to the mood and beauty of the book.

“I could have just downloaded a cute calligraphy font,” Amelia explains, “but I loved how Lauren’s passion for handwriting expresses the love she has for the English language in the same way that flowers speak to me. In an age where everything is become more and more digitalised… I think the art of calligraphy will become lost and that makes what Lauren is doing now even more special!”.

I love this quote from the intro of the book the most; isn’t it just divine?

“Flowers speak to us at a depth where no word can go, a secret language where words fail us. If only we could hear what they would say.”

This book would make such a divine gift for birthdays, Christmas, engagements, bridal showers (the list goes on). If you’d like to score a copy and a divine print of your choice from Amelia and Lauren, check out the comp below and support these lovely local ladies!

  1. Forever.
    Are you always remembered.
    Forever.
    Are you always reminded.
    Forever.
    Do you keep on trying.
    Life in all forms is……Forever.

  2. The ’empowered’ print speaks to me the most as it’s how I’m feeling about my friend and I launching an online posy delivery business. The feeling of freedom from breaking from the shackles of working for someone else is amazing! I love flowers so much and the memories and emotions they evoke that I created a candle range based on the months of the year and the flowers that bloom during that month. Flowers are not only beautiful, resilient and sensible but nature’s reminder to cherish our precious earth.

  3. Absolutely incredible. I’ve always a had huge love of flowers. The ritual of choosing a vase , arranging , re arranging etc I find it very therapeutic. My fav (it was SO hard) is strength and dignity. I run a small business and started after I got quite sick. I work with my chronic illness. Days that are so hard sometimes I question my actions. However this is what keeps me going. Those words are really just a forever reminder xxx

  4. “Forever” I just adore this quote from this stunning book …”because flowers gift us with their presence for only a moment but the messages they speak can last forever”… Isn’t that so true!
Flowers are my life, passion and joy, owning my own florist I am truly blessed

  5. My favourite print is ’empowered’. I absolutely love magnolias! In fact, I love all flowers. I own a little flower shop in Tasmania called Beautiful Flowers Gifts and Garden and every morning when I open the door to my shop I feel so lucky to be able to do what I love for a living, surrounded by beauty and intoxicating fragrance. Lucky me!!

  6. Beautiful. When you can’t find the right words flowers will do the trick- I any way, shape or form, every time! Love them so I do gardening for the serenity.

  7. My favorite print is ’empowered’ it reminds me of the strength within and the power you have to grow where ever you want.
Flowers are a symbol of strength, freedom and growth, some have many conditions/battles to fight just to bloom and its inspiring to see that something so simple can be so beautiful. x

  8. The prints are all gorgeous but the one that sings to me is “empowered” – I started a photography course last year as I wanted to find ‘ME” again. And do something that was just for me and no one else – a time to be selfish!!! I’d lost myself while I was being a Mum and Wife for the last 19yrs. I wanted to feel empowered again! I loved the course so much I did an Advanced course. I now have a new found love and skill of taking photos. Whilst doing the courses I’ve found a true passion in taking photos of flowers – capturing the beauty in simple blooms!!!

  9. I love the idea of having ‘limitless’ boundaries… So often people do not know the value of their own worth, but like flowers we are capable of limitless growth. We just have to bloom a little bit each day to uncover our true potential <3

  10. I really love the strength and dignity… These were my “words” while I went through treatment for advanced breast cancer so this one really speaks to me, even post treatment… A fabulous feature and post xx
