How to Create A Scandi Candy Living Room Design on a Budget
I’m a firm believer in being inspired by the everyday. I think if you look hard enough, you can pretty much use anything in your everyday life (even the seemingly mundane) to inspire an interior design scheme.
These moments are what I call Everday Inspo – and you should use them to inspire room designs in your home!
Sometimes you have to train your eye to see the design potential in a random moment, which is why I’m running this new segment on the blog called Everyday Inspo. Each week I’ll take an image and show you how to can use it to inspire and interior design moodboard.
THE EVERYDAY INSPO
I got the first copy of my upcoming book, Sydney Precincts, sent to me this week gone by and I couldn’t be more excited. One of the first venues I visited for the book (which is a collection of the best places to eat, drink, shop and hang out in Sydney) was Miss Peaches in Newtown. They offer up sublime soul food and an amazing array of drinks.
The team there were phenomenal and welcoming; serving me up one of the below peanut butter and jelly cocktails on arrival. I was in love with the colours of this cocktail back then and just as smitten with it when I saw it printed in the book this week gone by.
It’s this colour palette that I’m going to use to create a luxe living room for less this week!
THE STYLISED INTERPRETATION
I’m totally in love with this look from H&M. The white base allows the gorgeous soft pink and rich red tones to be the star of the show, with just the right amount of grey and black included to ensure the space doesn’t become too juvenile.
I also love the relaxed feel of this room. I tend to gravitate toward an interior design scheme that feels casual yet slightly aspirational, and I reckon this space is on the money!
Keep scrolling to see how you can create this room on a budget using items from some local (and bargain-buy) brands.
THE Scandy Candy MOOD BOARD
