Silver Christmas decorations don’t have to be paired with blue tones for a Frozen festive moment. Strip the entire colour story back and channel all things French this silly season.
It’s fair to say that silver Christmas decorations don’t get used as much as they should. Even I’ve tended to team them with blue and white shades in the past to create a frosty aesthetic.
The look I’m showing you today is perfect for lovers of a more upmarket Christmas vibe. Its not in-your-face but it certainly packs a punch.
Let’s take a look at how you can do it yourself at home.
A traditional French Provincial palette
This look takes cues from French Provincial style, so it looks great against a base palette of dark woods.
Atop this moody base palette, intermingle silver and white decor in a variety of finishes. Glossy ceramics can pay against both new and aged metals wonderfully here.
A variety of grey tones can be brought into this look too if you want to make it feel a little more contemporary.
Avoid the Bells and Whistles
This look is all class, so avoid anything with Christmas messaging or anything that feels overly kitsch. Some bon-bons or Christmas crackers in white and silver tones is about as playful as thing look is going to get.
That’s not to say you can’t keep it festive, but consider fairy lights running down the centre of your table paired with scented candles in festive fragrances.
You could form a trail of gorgeous silver and white Christmas decorations/baubles down the centre of the table, but ensure they feel refined.
Nature is your Friend
Because this look avoids a lot of the Christmas cliches and likes to keep the look fairly simple, it’s nice to look to nature to bring some interest to the table.
As you can see in the imagery here, flowers and branches make for a wonderful focal point on the table.
Use gorgeous glassware to display your flora and fauna, and experiment with cascading different-sized vases down the table runner for visual interest.
Bring out your Mementos
What makes this look so heartfelt is that you can use a variety of your family heirlooms and keepsakes.
Bring out old crockery and cutlery, display your special wine glasses, crack out your prized silver and make the setting feel uniquely yours.
The vibe here is high end, sophisticated and personal, so merge all of those together and you’re set.
