Decor Idea: Inject Life into a Neutral Colour Palette

Liven up a Neutral Colour Palette with these Powdery Hues from Country Road

I don’t discriminate when it comes to colour – I’m kinda obsessed with them all (ok, mint green maybe not so much). That said, I can stillΒ appreciate the understated chic a black and white colour palette can bring to a room. Truth be told, though; this look can become a little boring after a while if you don’t bring in a few pops of colour.

The easiest way, of course, is to go the affordable option and use accessories to break up a colour palette that’s suffering from monochromatic monotony. Not only is it great for the budget, but from an aesthetic point of view, it allows your scheme to still retain calm and harmony without feeling like a snoozefest.

I’ve taken inspiration from these images from Country Road, which perfectly demonstrate the colours you can add to black and white to give the colour palette some interest (namely powder blue, grey, pink and yellow).

Selecting the right tone is important here. Keep it powdery and you’re onto a winner. The foolproof way to do it, is to imagine a colour like pink or blue and envision adding a little white paint to it. The powdery, subtle shade that would result is exactly what you’re looking for!
