inside cathy elsmore’s bright bedroom: three ways to elevate your space
Cathy Elsmore has earned enough frequent decor points to be considered an honorary Creative if you ask me; I’ve featured her work on the blog a few times because she’s a talented cookie with the guts to go all out with her decorating choices.
Today’s post showcases her daughter’s bright and bold bedroom – and how easy it is to elevate the look of a room on a limited budget.
“My daughter wanted a more sophisticated space as she was over her London theme,” Cathy tells me. “I found some great bargains to pull this space together”.
What Cathy has done with her daughter’s room is a perfect example of how tweaking a few accent pieces in a setting can transform it from ordinary to something completely spectacular. A little imagination goes a long way, too!
Frames from IKEA + Bedding from Adairs + Lamps from Target = new room!
Using neutral tones on all walls allowed Cathy to really ramp up the high velocity hue at play in the bedding. To produce the custom artwork you see in the frames above the bed, Cathy took photos of the quilt cover, scanned them into her computer and then printed them out to pop into frames.
“This idea is perfect when you want to change your room but don’t have the budget to buy more art,” Cathy explains.
So there you have it, Creatives; bedding, wall art and your bedside table styling is all it takes to change the look of your room!
