Inside Laura Downie’s Paddington Home.
You know I love showcasing the Real Rooms of readers, Creatives, and today’s edition is a real show-stopper. Relaxed and casual, the living room of Laura Downie comes to life through its use of minimalistic design and unique furniture pieces. Let’s take a closer look inside, shall we?
Laura moved from Scotland to Australia in November last year and has made some bold design choices in her Paddington home.
“This picture shows four of my favourites pieces,” Laura tells me. “My king furniture Strata sofa, handmade coffee table, Matt Blatt rug and Richie Tipene trestle table”.
By keeping clutter to a minimum, Laura allows each piece to shine. My favourite has to be that coffee table – all the more amazing because it’s made by hand and truly unique.
Laura admits that she’s “loved every minute of making it my own” when it comes to furnishing her new pad, and the enthusiasm shows. The artwork above the fireplace gives great contrast and a decent pop of colour, too. A very successful room indeed!
