Two Hot Trends from the New IKEA Catalogue

Trends from the New IKEA Catalogue

Nothing gave me greater pleasure this past week than receiving a sneak peek into the upcoming 2014 IKEA catalogue. Not only are there some glorious new products on the horizon and a real focus on spending time at home with loved ones, but there’s two hot trends that caught my eye in particular – and they’re very different decor looks indeed!

Industrial Trend from the New IKEA Catalogue

Above and below you’ll see a whole world of wonder from IKEA’s Industrial Chic trend. The focus here is on a cool and urban vibe for the home, with a move toward masculine craftsmanship and a nod to retro decorating. I’ve always been beyond fond of an industrial scheme at home, so this is a very welcome addition. I’m particularly in love with the open kitchen below, which displays wares out in the open for the world to see. It’s a stainless steel dream I don’t want to wake up from!

Above and below you’ll notice a softer and more feminine approach with IKEA’s Romantic trend, which utilises a lot of textiles to bring about a sense of comfort. There’s a focus on detail here, using pretty and flowing fabrics and lacy, floral touches. I love the staging of the rugs above; all scattered and overlapping one another. Below, the fabric behind that gorgeous Leirvik bed head is also a very prominent standout for me. Isn’t it eye-catching?!

What’s your fave trend from the two, Creatives? For me, it has to be the Industrial Chic, because I’m a sucker for stainless steel, wood and other raw elements. And who can go past a kitchen like that? I might add though, I really do love that bed above and I think it could totally be butched up a bit with some dark and moody bedding.

  • I’m totally dying over the dark and moody Industrial Chic look. Any idea when IKEA are releasing the catalogue?
