Blue is the Undeniable Colour for Summer
Blue has been my go-to hue for years. Indigo and teal and my two all-time favourite tones – and when paired with whites, golds and a splash of hot pink they really come to life! It delighted me to no end, as you can imagine, when I flipped open the Inside Out December issue (out today) to see its pages splashed with a tonne of blue colour stories. It’s become quite undeniable, Creatives; blue is your go-to colour for summer decorating and this issue proves it!
The Domayne campaign on page 44 was the first hint that this issue was going to answer all my blue-loving prayers, but it was the Best Buys section on page 55 that really proved my point. Above, you can see a glorious collection of outdoor furnishings – styled by Jessica Hanson – and blue tones are dominating the scene. My fave pieces in this shoot have gotta be the paper leaves, actually. They’re from Paper Couture and I reckon they’re pretty slick.
Of course, the tumblers on page 56 were also pretty dreamy – and again in a lovely blue colourway. This shot was styled by Joseph Gardner and it’s making me crave a summer bevvie ASAP. Below, the Dinner Date spread once again highlights how amazing blue can be when it’s teamed with contrasting tones coral, pink and red tones. Styled by Phoebe McEvoy, it just goes to prove that creating a winning tablescape is all about the layering!
The Inside Out December 2014 issue is out today and I’m loving it something shocking. I continue to sing the praises of this mag, because it always exposes us to amazing products, talented creative types and most importantly – it hasn’t wavered in its interiors focus and always interacts with its readers. I’m smitten!
