The Creative 10: My Interview with Inside Out Magazine’s Claire Bradley
As Editor-in-Chief of home and interiors mag Inside Out, the darling Claire Bradley is exposed to a plethora of creative inspiration from artistic people, their places and the products they produce. But what gets her creative juices flowing outside of the magazine? In this week’s Creative 10, I found out just that!
| When are you at your most creative? “First thing in the morning, mostly when I’m walking on the beach (although a cheeky red often gets the ideas flowing!)”.
| Who is the most creative person you know? “My mum – she’s an illustrator and designer, and even though she’s retired, she never lets practicality get in the way of a life lived creatively”.
| What’s your most creative destination? “Italy – inspiring in every way”.
| What’s your best creation or creative moment to date? “I don’t know about my best, but my most recent was making personalised gingerbread people for all of the Inside Out team. That certainly pushed the limits of my icing/piping skills”.
| What’s your fave creative read? “A good Margaret Atwood challenges me to think outside the box, which is always good”.
| What music makes you feel creative? “Any beautifully produced piece of music inspires me. I like layered instruments and sounds, with honest melodies”.
| What’s your one creative must-have at home or the office? “Beautiful pens. I write/sketch/plan a lot, and I hate a crummy pen or blunt pencil (actually, I’m lost without a pencil sharpener too!)”.
| What creative item are you lusting over at the moment? “A Little Dandelion piece. I imagine anything to be possible with one of them wrapped around you – plus I love the unique weave and form of each piece”.
| What inspires you to get creative? “Music and flowers – both make my heart soar”.
| What’s one creative endeavour you’d like to try or pursue? “I think I’d like to try my hand at paper art – it strikes me as both tactile and elegant”.
