Shaynna Blaze’s new show Deadline Design is finally here

I’ve admitted to having a major crush on Shaynna Blaze numerous times on the blog in the past. The sort of crush that a gay stylist would naturally have for a creative superstar of Shaynna’s calibre.

It should come as no surprise, then, that I’m utterly excited for her new show Deadline Design to start in a few weeks.

Lifestyle Home has been a little secretive about the show the past few months. But they’ve finally let us have a look at it. And by all accounts, I reckon it’s going to be sublime.

Deadline Design is Landing October 19

Deadline Design is not only hosted by Ms Blaze but she has major input into the design of every single home makeover you see on the show as well.

From an $80,000 makeover of a one-bedroom inner city apartment, to a $500,000 fit-out of a four-bedroom home; Deadline Design features real clients with very specific tastes. Oh, and a very real budget (which in my experience is what every client is on).

The 10-part series is Shaynna’s most personal yet. We’ve seen the creative mastermind work her magic on staging homes for Selling Houses Australia in the past, but this new series is different. It goes behind the scenes of Shaynna’s interior design business and gives you insight into the entire reno and styling journey.

In each episode of the series, Shaynna is helped by builder Mike Griggs and designer Yasmine Ghoniem, who are on-board to assist her in making clients’ design dreams a reality.

It’s a Race against the Clock

“In episode one we’ll meet Peter and Debbie from Blackburn, Melbourne, who are looking to renovate the home they’ve lived in for eight years for their next chapter as empty nesters”, Shaynna explains. “They have a budget of $500,000 and I’m under the pump to deliver a glamorous retreat in time for their joint 50th birthday celebrations!”.

That’s the other element that’s different about this show. There’s always a deadline to meet, which is actually a very accurate description of life as a designer in the real world (take it from me!).

“I can’t wait for you to see what I’ve been working so hard on for the past few months, and to hear what you think of my new project,” Shaynna says.

Deadline Design premiers on Lifestyle Home, Wednesday October 19 at 9.30pm.
