French Fantasy: Inside Country Home Ideas Magazine
It’s no secret that I love colour. Sometimes, though, I can’t help but be seduced by the subdued palette French interiors are know for. The images in this post are so captivating that even the most diehard colour lovers would go weak at the knees over them. They’re all contained in the new issue of Country Home Ideas magazine – and I can’t get enough!
What I love about a French interior scheme like the ones you see here is that texture is king. Because the colours are kept fairly neutral and downplayed, texture is the element that adds all the interest. Woven rugs, plush cushions and elaborate textiles like the curtains up top all work to create wow factor without bright colours. And who could possibly turn down the amazing mirrors below? They’re a work of art on their own and make the space feel truly sophisticated.
French decor is also wonderfully gender neutral. While florals and fabric work to soften the space and make it feel somewhat feminine, heavy furniture with a weathered finish creates a distinctly masculine aesthetic. The result is a look that strikes the perfect balance of both worlds.
Country Home Ideas Magazine is out now. Grab a copy and take in all the French fabulosity – and check out their Facebook Page for more!
