Get Your Project on with The Crafty Minx at Home
It’s no secret that I love to get my craft on, so this release from Kelly Doust, The Crafty Minx at Home, is right up my alley. Filled to the brim with upcycling ideas, furniture reinventions and enough projects to keep you going for months, it’s undoubtably a crafters bestie!
What I adore about this book is its ethos of creating an original, appealing and handmade home; one that makes your abode an experience to be in – filled with your own unique treasures and memorabilia. Having written four other books, Kelly knows a thing or two about a reinventing and repurposing.
Here are some of my fave projects…
Stairway to Heaven Bookcase
I’ve written about my own glorious rustic ladder on the blog before, so this one caught my eye right away. I love repurposing an object – and transforming this ladder into a bookcase for the bedroom is a dreamy reinvention indeed. It’s also styled to perfection and feels wonderfully romantic!
Above: It really doesn’t get any better than finding and using vintage suitcases as tables!
Dream a Little Dream Bedside Tables
What a genius idea this one is: taking your bedside tables and turning them into something divine by using wallpaper. I like this one because it has personalisation written all over it. There is no one size fits all rule here. This concept allows you to create the bedside of your dreams – and without spending much mula, either!
Above: A bold table runner is a great idea to add some drama to a dinner party, don’t you think?
Barn Owl Doorstop
Another thing I have shared my love for on the blog is anything bird related in decor. This barnyard owl idea is such a cute one. The best part is that it utilises random scraps of fabric, so the budget is small, plus you really only need some basic sewing skills to pull it off!
This book is a must-have for lovers of a shabby chic vibe; it’s distinctly romantic, vintage, nostalgic and a little girly. There are whimsical and quirky elements to this release as well, so there’s a little magic to be had all-round. The book is also split into sections depending on the room in your home, so you can easily head to your fave chapter and get making!
