Inside Out and TheHome have teamed up to launch their Search for a Stylist competition, where they select eight up-and-comers to style their own Inside Out front cover. See my cover here and if you’d be so kind – vote for mine to win!
Each stylist was given four hours on-set to create their own Inside Out mock-up cover. Above you can see me working away to create the final image below. Trust me, it’s not as easy as it looks and there’s a lot of hard labour involved.
The team at Inside Out and TheHome were both there on the day, as stylists were sectioned off so they couldn’t see one another’s work. The stylists were not given any direction or advice either – you were on your own with a photographer to work your magic!
I went for a fairly simplistic scene, with not to much fuss or over-embellishment. It’s a mag cover, after all, so it was important to leave appropriate negative space for text. I like a clean and fresh aesthetic, so the bright white backdrop allowed the colourful decor to shine.
The winner of Search for a Stylist gets the chance to do more styling for Inside Out (my dream), some work at TheHome (my dream) and a few other gorgeous bits and pieces – not to mention the glory, of course!
If you could please jump onto the Inside Out Facebook page below and vote for my cover it would be so very much appreciate (just ensure you ‘Like’ their FB page too).
