It's no secret that I'm utterly obsessed with colour. I prefer bright decor that screams a little at you as you enter the room. Eye-catching homewares definitely make a statement - and in today's post I'm showcasing 10 of my fave. The Moroccan Ottoman and Chevron Rug you you see above are from Kith & Co (click here to check them out) and below are nine more high-velocity homewares.
Cathy Elsmore has earned enough frequent decor points to be considered an honorary Creative if you ask me; I’ve featured her work on the blog a few times because she’s a talented cookie with the guts to go all out with her decorating choices.
I love the online world. It feels like every few days I stumble across a person or store through social media that makes me go gaga. This week it’s Incy Interiors; a business that specialises in designer furniture for babies and children - plus so much more. Their art and accessories are so cute that even I want them for my room (that, or I need to father I child immediately - it could go either way!).
I think I need to rename Real Rooms to 'Rooms that Make me Weep with Joy'. This latest instalment, which belongs to graphic designer Amber Stapff, is a Scandi wonderland with a minimalistic and calming vibe. You can totally see the designer at play in this space. And I have to admit, it's making me question my love of colour (please do not tell colour I said that!).
Fabulous news just in, Creatives! The masterminds behind one of my fave brands, Opus Design, are launching a brand new e-commerce website today. What does that mean for you? Online Shopping! I had the pleasure of touring the Opus Design Co store in Paddington back in April and not only will goodies from this store feature on the website, but the other two stores (Opus Paddington and Octopus) will also be showing off their wares!
1 | I had my socks rocked off this week when I got my hands on this amazing trio of concrete candle holders from Melbourne company Sarai Homewares. Available in a range of colours - including neon - these three holders are made and set in recycled moulds, which is all rather environmentally friendly! The company also stocks my other love - cushions - and more!
There’s simply no denying the fact that I’m a bit obsessed with colour. Yes, I understand and have even posted about the fact that beige can be beautiful - and I fully appreciate the swoon-worthy qualities that a Scandi scheme possesses. But for me, dear Creatives, it’s all about a high-intensity hues. You can see why I was delighted to feast my eyes on these Terracotta Treasures then (or what some might call ceramic pineapples!).
Not long after I attended the Temple & Webster styling workshop at iscd a few weeks back, Karen McCartney and the team from T&W were kind enough to ask me if i'd like to spend an afternoon at their headquarters, to which I replied (to quote Geri Halliwell in the acclaimed movie Spice World) "Is the Pope a Catholic?" Needless to say, I had kittens, died from excitement, resuscitated myself and high-tailed it to their Alexandria warehouse for a behind the scenes tour - camera in hand!
