Designer Furniture from Oz Design

My number one rule is to never follow trends too closely. Instead, I like to do what I call 'interior grazing'; grabbing a few nibbles from every scheme that appeals to me. Doing this creates a room that feels balance and won't date. This post is going to explain my philosophy further!

Ceramic Pineapple in White, Yellow and BlueThere’s simply no denying the fact that I’m a bit obsessed with colour. Yes, I understand and have even posted about the fact that beige can be beautiful - and I fully appreciate the swoon-worthy qualities that a Scandi scheme possesses. But for me, dear Creatives, it’s all about a high-intensity hues. You can see why I was delighted to feast my eyes on these Terracotta Treasures then (or what some might call ceramic pineapples!).

Abigail Ahern's Decorating with StyleAlert the presses, Creatives; I have been converted! Once a lover of all things light and bright in interiors (you know, sunshine and lollipops, a place where it's always spring), this release from style maven Abigail Ahern has given me a wondrous appreciate of interiors with mood. The pictures within this release are somewhat dark, very alluring and quite unlike anything I've  laid eyes upon in an interiors book (and you know I have many).

Urban Road Art - Mixing Whites and Brights If it's one thing Mumma Creative has been telling me for years, it's that brights and whites don't mix. While this is of course true when it comes to washing your clothes (if I find one more pink shirt!) the same cannot be said for home decor.

Neon Decor - Cushions from Follow StoreIf there's a homewares store that's not stocking neon decor at the moment, I certainly haven't come across it. This fantastic fad is trending hard and with good reason; it's a great way to inject some wow factor to an otherwise so-so colour scheme. Shall we have a look at some successful neon decorating ideas and where you can get them? Yes, we shall!

Opus Design Co Paddington Store WindowYou know you're a home decor addict when your friends send you pictures of the inside of homewares stores, saying "you have to check out this place". That's exactly what happened with Opus Design Co; my friend Jess shot me a photo of the inside of the store via her iPhone and as soon as I got the chance I ran in there to take it all in. It's like a decorative rainbow exploded, in the most awe-inspiring way possible!
