The day I walked into Seasonal Concepts it wasn't even intentional. I was at a florist up the road and was told I simply HAD to check out this amazing store that housed giant taxidermy, flowers, homewares and vintage furniture. Say no more, I thought - I'm there!
A friend of mine recently told me she was at a loss when it came to decorating around her brown leather sofa. She had tried adding turquoise accessories but admitted that it felt a little expected (I have to agree with her there). Here are a few ideas to ensure your brown couch - be it leather or upholstered - is used successfully in your space and plays well with your other pieces.
I've never really understood homes that are styled within an inch of their lives and manage to say nothing about the people who live there. At TLC HQ, it's all about personalisation, comfort and reflecting who I am and what's happening in my life. In saying that, though, I do like things to have their place (and certain objects are not for the curious claws of the satanic sisters that are better know as my two cats). Enter this glorious find from Papaya!
When the team from Papaya invited me for an exclusive tour of their Mosman store last week, it's safe to say I was a little beside myself. I've been a longtime fan of the brand, always rather fond of their contemporary designs and use of raw materials. When I stepped into the interior of this North Sydney oasis, it was like being transported into another universe, where I lost my mind in the best way possible and am not certain I have it back yet.
Creatives, you know by now that I'm in dire need of an intervention to deal with my increasing candle addiction. But if I may be afforded one last binge, like the contestant have on The Biggest Loser before they start their diet, I wish it to be with a Pigeon & Weasle candle. Primarily, the scent 'Red Frog', which as the title suggests, smells like the lollies of the same name. This is one candle making story with a difference - and it involves utilising recycled beer bottles. Genius!
I really am a bad Sydney-sider. I continue to write blog posts that start with a "I can't believe this place has been under my nose the entire time" type vibe. It's sad but it's true, and it happened to me once again recently as I was strolling down Bourke Street in Surry Hills and saw the flora outside Garlands calling my name. I stopped for a moment, ensured my heart was still beating and high-tailed it in there - camera in hand, as always.
I first came across Terrace Outdoor Living courtesy of their pop-up store at the Supa Centre Moore Park. I was a little saddened to hear they were closing down until I realised their flagship store in Woollahra housed everything that their pop-up store did - and then some! I took to this Eastern Suburbs haven for all this green and outdoors and snapped my fave pieces!
