This is the first photoshoot I ever styled. And look, I had no idea what I was doing but I did OK I reckon. I was so new to it all that I didn't even think to steam the bedding 🤦🏻‍♂️ I mean honestly, what was I thinking? I truly just say yes to every opportunity that comes my way and figure it out as I go along, but it's gotten me pretty far. So, life lesson: just say yes even if you're clueless. It gets better! 🤪

I'm trying to create calm at home right now in order to survive this lockdown. But god is it hard. The gym in the building has closed again, which was the only way I was going to lose these isolation kilos before I get in front of the camera next month. I can't be expected to actually eat healthy or drink less wine in order to fit into my old clothes lol 🙅🏻‍♂️ I honestly haven't gotten into any formal attire since Corona hit and I’m so afraid to attempt it. SUCK IN YOUR GUT!!! 🐷

When the builder installs the pendant you recommended for your client and it's off-centre 🤬 Once you see it you can't unsee it. This is why I have my own electricians who install post-build. Not throwing shade at the build team, but come on. Actually I am throwing shade at the build team 🤣. How did this go wrong? I didn't notice it at first but now that I have it haunts my dreams.

I've told you my dream of being a 'good honest country gay' haven't I? You know how every small town has a dapper old gay gent who runs a local homewares store? That's my plan in about 20 years. Apron, glasses on the end of my nose, pencil behind the ear. Very Prue and Trude from Kath & Kim. Anyway, a fireplace in my country estate is an essential part of the plan. It has to be an old brick one like this one from my client's living room. I want a red wine in front of it with a cat on my lap, writing my memoirs. I wonder what the title of my book will be. Suggestions welcome... 🤓

I presented the design concept to my Mount Martha client on Friday and I'm so excited she loved almost all of my ideas. These Frankie beds from @houseoforange are for the grandkids room and I'm so pumped we're getting some of them. They're so chic, not too 'kiddy' and the colour palette here is bang on-theme with the coastal Hamptons vibe I'm going for. Very exciting! Actually makes me a bit clucky. Surrogates apply within please 👶🏻

If loving fake plants is wrong then I don't wanna be right! How gorgeous and lifelike are these ones? These sublime snaps are from one of @metriconhomes lookbook themes, Urban Breeze. A very contemporary interior design vibe. I gotta say, I think I have Metricon to blame for my faux plant addiction 🤭 It wasn't until I moved to Melbourne and started presenting videos in so many of their display homes that I became somewhat obsessed. That said, I've been researching cat-safe indoor plants (real ones) so I'm thinking of getting a few shortly. Watch this space: dead plants incoming in a matter of weeks 😹 Also, a question: do your pets ruin your plants? I suspect one of mine will so I need to take that into account too.
