Designer, writer, speaker, The Block judge; it's safe to say that local Creative Darren Palmer has his finger in many (stylish) pies. In my interview segment, The Creative 10, I've thrown 10 creative questions his way so we can learn more about this industry heavyweight, what makes him tick and where he draws inspiration from!
I love me a good quote, especially if it's in a killer font, says something out of the ordinary or makes me have one of those "aww" moments when I read it. This brings me to the very reason I put together today's post. These 10 quote art prints aim to give you your own little moment. Or if nothing else, a good giggle!
It's no secret that I love colour. Sometimes, though, I can't help but be seduced by the subdued palette French interiors are know for. The images in this post are so captivating that even the most diehard colour lovers would go weak at the knees over them. They're all contained in the new issue of Country Home Ideas magazine - and I can't get enough!
Dark interiors go against many of the supposed design rules. For example, the suggestion that a space will feel smaller if the walls and furniture within it are dark. I think the legendary Abigail Ahern said it best when she wrote "A small room is a small room. Painting it pale is not going to double its size or even make it look marginally bigger!".
As the undeniable majesty of magazines, Deb Bibby has been at the helm of one of my fave homewares publications, real living, since its inception back in 2005 (time flies when you're setting trends!). I scored some time from this lovely lady in my new segment, The Creative 10, to get some insight into her creative world, who she admires and what inspires her.
