I've never really understood homes that are styled within an inch of their lives and manage to say nothing about the people who live there. At TLC HQ, it's all about personalisation, comfort and reflecting who I am and what's happening in my life. In saying that, though, I do like things to have their place (and certain objects are not for the curious claws of the satanic sisters that are better know as my two cats). Enter this glorious find from Papaya!
When the team from Papaya invited me for an exclusive tour of their Mosman store last week, it's safe to say I was a little beside myself. I've been a longtime fan of the brand, always rather fond of their contemporary designs and use of raw materials. When I stepped into the interior of this North Sydney oasis, it was like being transported into another universe, where I lost my mind in the best way possible and am not certain I have it back yet.
I really am a bad Sydney-sider. I continue to write blog posts that start with a "I can't believe this place has been under my nose the entire time" type vibe. It's sad but it's true, and it happened to me once again recently as I was strolling down Bourke Street in Surry Hills and saw the flora outside Garlands calling my name. I stopped for a moment, ensured my heart was still beating and high-tailed it in there - camera in hand, as always.
It takes quite a store to lure me away from using bright colours in my home. But only moments into my snap-filled store tour of Country Road in Bondi Junction, I felt compelled to call my partner, tell him the skip was pulling up outside at any given moment and prepare him for yet another complete home overhaul. You know, a leave nothing behind scenario. This is what I call the CRE (Country Road effect) – and boy had I been struck down with it.
