Inside Out and TheHome have teamed up to launch their Search for a Stylist competition, where they select eight up-and-comers to style their own Inside Out front cover. See my cover here and if you'd be so kind - vote for mine to win!
TV star Livinia Nixon has an infatuation with design and decor (a girl after my own heart!), and has joined TheHome team to tell you all about it. I have the lowdown on this wondrous homewares-inspired union on the blog today.
These industry movers and shakers spend their days immersed in styling, homewares, magazines and interiors, but what are they doing regarding to their own festive celebrations? I caught up with these six style makers to get their take on the silly season and have them share some Christmas styling ideas of their own.
Sometimes you see decor that makes your heart skip a beat (and leaves you wondering how far away the medics are should you need resuscitation). This scenario happened to me when I attended TheHome Spring Launch yesterday. The Gazebo Wine Garden was the venue for this afternoon high tea and the styling work from Marj Silva (below), Emma Blomfield and the team at TheHome was truly something spectacular.
There’s simply no denying the fact that I’m a bit obsessed with colour. Yes, I understand and have even posted about the fact that beige can be beautiful - and I fully appreciate the swoon-worthy qualities that a Scandi scheme possesses. But for me, dear Creatives, it’s all about a high-intensity hues. You can see why I was delighted to feast my eyes on these Terracotta Treasures then (or what some might call ceramic pineapples!).
Self-confessed design nerd Emma Blomfield works not only as a stylist for her own company, Nest Designs, but as a homewares buyer too. “I see all the products before they are released to the stores, so I can see what trends are coming out”. Jealousy alert! I caught up with this very talented lady - and put my envy aside for just a moment - to learn more about her work, home style and the trends that make her heart race the most.
If it's one thing Mumma Creative has been telling me for years, it's that brights and whites don't mix. While this is of course true when it comes to washing your clothes (if I find one more pink shirt!) the same cannot be said for home decor.
