Brand new website The Design Keeper showcases unique homewares and fashion pieces with strong design elements and understated elegance. I spoke to Director (and fellow ISCD graduate) Anne-Maree Mammoliti about establishing the store, its ethos and what's coming up for the brand!
For Ria Ford of local business Zambella, living in South Africa for 10 years exposed her to the beaded arts movement. Using recycled items to create handmade gifts, it supports a community of more than 450 artists. The best part? The products are now selling on the Down That Little Lane website and I'm showcasing them (and other wares) today on the blog.
For as long as I can remember I have loved everything about Britain. And no, it has nothing to do with that Union Jack dress Ginger Spice wore at the Brits that time (though I’m sure it helped). There is just something so wonderfully charming about British homewares. Founder of SE10 Gallery, Sam Cannell, clearly shares my fondness for all things UK, because she’s opened a gorgeous online homewares store that celebrates it!
With a career spanning over 20 years and many continents, Karen McCartney has become an industry expert on interior design and home styling. The founding Editor of Inside Out magazine is now on board as Temple & Webster's Editorial Director, revelling in the fast pace of the ever-changing online space. I was lucky enough to take some time out with this interiors icon to learn more about her creative journey, how she styles her own home and so much more!
Sometimes you see decor that makes your heart skip a beat (and leaves you wondering how far away the medics are should you need resuscitation). This scenario happened to me when I attended TheHome Spring Launch yesterday. The Gazebo Wine Garden was the venue for this afternoon high tea and the styling work from Marj Silva (below), Emma Blomfield and the team at TheHome was truly something spectacular.
Fabulous news just in, Creatives! The masterminds behind one of my fave brands, Opus Design, are launching a brand new e-commerce website today. What does that mean for you? Online Shopping! I had the pleasure of touring the Opus Design Co store in Paddington back in April and not only will goodies from this store feature on the website, but the other two stores (Opus Paddington and Octopus) will also be showing off their wares!
There’s simply no denying the fact that I’m a bit obsessed with colour. Yes, I understand and have even posted about the fact that beige can be beautiful - and I fully appreciate the swoon-worthy qualities that a Scandi scheme possesses. But for me, dear Creatives, it’s all about a high-intensity hues. You can see why I was delighted to feast my eyes on these Terracotta Treasures then (or what some might call ceramic pineapples!).
