Meet Art Club Concept and Win some of their New Range

Art Club Concept is a relatively new brand on the interiors scene, but it already has the nation going gaga over its eye-catching interior fashion. If you consider yourself a devotee, this is your chance to win some of Art Club Concepts stunning designs.

The Art Club Concept Story

I’ve never heard of homewares referred to as interior fashion before, but I like it. I guess it makes perfect sense for founder and director Ben Lawry to refer to ACC’s products in this way; he spent a decade in the world of fashion and it’s had an obvious effect on the brand’s aesthetic.

“I was ready to explore a new creative platform and outlet,” Ben tells me, when I ask why he moved from fashion to interiors after a decade in the clothing game. “Always having a love for art in the home, Art Club Concept was the perfect next step within the creative industry”.

It was a trip to Bali a few years ago that birthed the idea for Art Club Concept, and Ben explains that it’s definitely, for him, the brand’s most memorable moment.

“The idea of creating artwork that would impact peoples lives in a positive way is what brought ACC to life and is what fuels my passion each day! Art has always been more than a product to me; it’s the positive effect it plays in someone’s life consciously and sub-consciously”.

With that aim to positively impact people firmly in place, the Melbourne-based brand has moved well beyond art in terms of its product offering. Hit their stylish online home and you’ll also find find cushions and clocks, sitting amongst chic wall prints in an array of colours and styles.

The New Modern Muse Range

Art Club Concept’s new Modern Muse range is best described as graphic and somewhat minimal in its look and feel. But Ben adds that it’s also quite illustrative and has a sense of luxury to it.

“Our main focus for The Modern Muse was colour and illustrative design. Both of these elements played key roles in creating the collections aesthetic, which is true to our brand DNA,” he tells me. “For colours, we’ve worked with a range of beautiful tones this season including Blush Pink, Soft Icy Grey, Navy and of course, we can never go past Monochromatic!”.

The monochromatic moments in this range are by far my favourites. The Beautiful Chaos wall art and the Minimal Spirit cushions need to live in my home ASAP if not sooner. What I also love about the ACC range is that you can easily pair a cushion, artwork and clock together – so it makes decorating a pocket of your home a cinch.

I imagine that the launch of a new collection each season must be quite a thrilling journey to go on for the brand. Ben tells me that it’s always an incredibly high moment when the products are released and the public has a chance to respond to them, and it’s certainly been the case with the Modern Muse collection.

“We put so much love and work into each collection so we’re always really proud of the final outcome”.

What’s Next for Art Club Concept

The past year has been a rollercoaster ride for the brand, which is headed up by Ben and sees four other staff members run various aspects of the day-to-day activities. Ben tells me that one lesson he’s learnt with every opportunity or failure is to stay true to your vision, believe in yourself and stay focused.

“There are a few projects on the cards this year such as International expansion, exciting collaborations, plus introducing new products,” Ben tells me, when I ask what lies ahead for Art Club Concept. “We can’t wait to share it all with everyone later in the year!”.

Oh boy! I’m actually having trouble deciding which pieces I like the most. This brand is fantastic! So many of their pieces could easily work in my place. I’m particularly fond of the X Noir Wall Art and the Minimal Spirit cushion…although I also love the Beautiful Chaos Wall Art. This is a great brand and I’m glad you introduced us to it!

Modern Duo clock and the beautiful painterly moss cushion are items that would keep me ‘with the times’ and comfortable at the same time!

I totally didn’t say why I liked the pieces. Whoops. The X Noir is simple and I think it would look quite sophisticated in a monochromatic space. Plus it makes me think of X marks the spot. I love that the cushion is double sided and it would add a touch of drama to a dark space.

    Marble sunsets and graphic lines
    There’s sublimity in each design
    Beautiful chaos, on my wall
Tough to choose — I love them all!

The clock that stands out most to me is the modern duo clock. The combination of that slate teal and the blush pink is a perfect, harmonious colour way. The breathe wall art is gorgeous and features the leaf of one of my most favourite indoor plants, the Monstera. The Edie cushion is stunning I love the broad, bold brushstroke design the combination of these three elements in my lounge room would be amazing!

Mmmm what a delicious brand I’m updating my lounge room to have a soft, minimal feel and these pieces would look so pretty. I want to sit down in the room and say ‘ahhh, I’m home’ and then sip on tea as I unwind.
The endless sky cushion is right up my alley because my colour scheme is mint and blush and I like the painted diamonds wall art because the quote is so true.
The urban grid clock is nice because it’s just so simple but hold at the same time – the thin lines would compliment my wire side table.
Thanks for introducing us to the brand Chris, it’s a goodie

  • I love how a lot of products match the Pantone colours for this year – Rose Quartz and Serenity! If I had to pick a handful, I’d say the Modern Duo clock and certainly the Breathe artwork – who doesn’t love a giant monstera leaf? And I love how the cushions have different sides – I change my mind like I change clothes so it’s handy to be able to mix it up. The Modern Memphis cushion is my favourite at the moment! Can’t wait to see what else ACC will bring out!

Lovely pieces all of them but for me my favourite combination would be the inky blue and blush pink in the modern duo wall clock, teamed with the even deeper blues of the explore wall art and capped off with the paradise awaits cushion. I love the relaxing and grounding tone of the blues with the floaty dreamy feel of pink tied in with the theme of palm trees and water.

I will try to keep it simple….

I will readily admit I am a total ART HUSSY
‘Cos for these creations I would not be fussy…
I see grids, and washes and simple lines
Repetition, harmony and elements of design
Everything I see with my hungry eyes
Would be a loved and special prize…
Funky clocks, plump cushions and groovy art

With humble begging from a wee country lass, an artist and creative who lives in a beautiful place but has only Target homewares, The Reject Shop, Mad Mikes, Bunnings and Aldi to shop at… and suffers terribly from homewares/interior lust.

‘Beautiful Chaos’, that’s my home, that’s my life.

    5 May, 2016
  • I love the simplicity of all of Art Club’s ranges but if I had to pick a favourite from Modern Muse it would have to be the X Noir print. It evokes so many connotations and emotions but I know that X definitely marks the spot in my house where this would live beautifully.

Beautiful designs, simple yet chic. My favourites are the Paradise Lost wall art, it reminds me of being on holidays. I also love the Nouveau decorative cushions, the print is amazing.

    My FAVE pieces are:
    1. Marble Romance Decorative Cushion – I love the contrast of the pink with the marble and then the black with the gold zipper. Very elegant. And when I feel like a change I simply need to flip it over!

    2. Painted Diamonds Wall Art – I’m a big fan of Beau Taplin quotes and am looking for a piece of art like this for my room! Bonus that it has a quote on it too.

    3. Marble Sunset Clock – Absolutely DIVINE!! The colours work impeccably together. Beautiful, modern and elegant piece with a pop of colour too. Would work well with the cushion.

    -urban grid clock
    -Paradise awaits cushion

These pieces reflect my life, realistically. The urban grind, then the holiday in paradise(well, ideally) in which to explore and unwind.
My home reflects myself and this brand really nails it.

PAINTED DIAMONDS WALL ART – as i often feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders and this would help me to see things more clearly
DREAM SEEKER CUSHION – as I am drawn to the colours and it makes me smile and feel happy
SWEET ESCAPE // NATURAL CLOCK – as on my new lounge room wall my eyes would be drawn to this clock and it looks so funky
