Last year on the blog I brought you 2016’s hottest colour couple; red and charcoal. It was a stunning combination of soothing softness mixed with punchy warm accents. Just talking about it has me excited that Autumn is finally here again. If you want to see what all the fuss was about, you can click here to look at the dreamy photos of red and charcoal doing their thing in the bedroom. It was truly something.
Now, if red and charcoal have you smitten (and why wouldn’t they?), you’re more than welcome to rock this colour couple again in 2017. But before you decide on your Autumn shades, let me show you another sublime option. Because if you ask me, this season is all about blush and grey.
The added bonus is that you can win a prize pack in these gorgeous shades from my friends at Lorraine Lea. All the details are the end of this post. You’re welcome! 😉
Blush & Grey Decor Love this Autumn
The biggest selling point when it comes to blush and grey as a colour couple is that together, they’re the perfect blend of masculine and feminine. I always veer toward any aesthetic that achieves this sense of balance, because it makes your space feel well resolved. There’s a great contrast between the two shades but it’s not visually shocking. And in a space like a bedroom, nobody wants to be visually shocked!
The other bonus of blush and grey together is that you can control the dominant tone. Obsessed with pinks? Turn up the blush by rocking a bold feature wall. Or lay out a blanket across your bed like in the photo below. The Ultra Soft Blanket you see here is lightweight but wonderfully warm – and I love the embossing.
If grey is the colour you want to feature more of, go for it! Use dusty blush tones in accent pieces like bedside table accessories, or cosy cushions. Even a pop of pink flowers is a really nice touch against a grey backdrop. It’s all up to you!
Blush and Grey: Versatile and Easy to Introduce
Blush and grey are no wallflowers; they’re happy playing with just about every other colour in your home’s current palette.
They’ll work with black, white and beige. Plus you can introduce mint and indigo tones into the mix if you want to make the look more stimulating and visually varied.
In terms of other materials, warm metallics like copper and brass will work wonders with a blush and grey palette. As will both light blonde tones or moodier brown and black furniture.
It really is such a versatile colour combo. And if you look to pieces in these tones that feel cosy and tactile (like the Harper throw below; don’t you just want to touch it?), it’ll make the entire scene so cosy!
Hopefully your mind is as blown as mine is by the ravishing colour combo that is blush and grey. I love the sense of warmth it brings to a room. And as an avid fan of Autumn (I am so glad that summer is over!), I cannot wait to curl up under a blush blanket, grab a grey cushion and watch some trash TV. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is my current guilty pleasure. I won’t apologise for it – I’m hooked!

I love the colours this range! I’m currently us inf nobly dark coloured sheets because I’m Co sleeping with bubs but once we move her into her own room, I would love to turn my bed back into a stylish sleep haven!
It’s almost as though my ultimate wardrobe items have taken to relaxing on my cushions! Love this colour combination that will never ever go out of fashion! Ths hubby can’t even complain about this combo as it’s the perfect balance between masculine and feminine….. mmm sweet sweet love!
Loving this colour scheme and the luxurious textures Lorraine Lea have put together. I recently bought a house where the master bedroom is pink and I don’t have the budget to change it completely. A blush and grey combination is exactly what I am looking for. The masculine/feminine look works well as it will tone down the pinkness (there’s some bright elements involved) of my new bedroom and Lorraine Lea range makes me think of relaxing weekends unwinding in comfort.
With our first child on the way, I’ve been spending all my energy on creating a beautiful nursery space for our daughter. What I love about the Lorraine Lea blush and grey package (which so obviously has been curated with absolute style and care) is that it would create the perfect soft and inviting oasis in OUR room. The sophistication of the greys and muted pinks are gorgeous together and they are a perfect back drop for my biggest weakness in life, warm metallic accessories . I am absolutely in LOVE! It would be incredible to have our room styled as beautifully as our nursery to truly create spaces where our new family will be able to grow. Love your blog Chris!! X
Texture overload and hues that seamlessly work well together. Love Lorraine Lea’s new collection. Be a softer winter of sleep ins and giving back to my soul with these new additions.
After finally moving my ex 25week premature babies’ cot from my room after nine months, my room needed an adult sanctuary makeover. And the colours I picked we’re blush and grey – dark grey carpets, white walls and wall to wall sheer curtains were already there to tempt me to finish the changeover. This year’s collection from Lorraine Lea would complained t perfectly. And can guarantee soft textures, and inviting colours to help make our room feel luxurious. We will be spoilt with these designer additions, to help soothe the wearied soul after a cranky one year-old stayed up all night …..

Oh wow – what I love about these products is how perfectly they’d work in our room and how I wouldn’t have thought to use them. Our walls are a blush-like colour (‘tawny mink’ I think!) but I’d never have thought of adding in grey and now I realise it would look amazing!
Wow just , I love the gorgeous mix of textures and the blush is devine, a really calming colour!
