Last year on the blog I brought you 2016’s hottest colour couple; red and charcoal. It was a stunning combination of soothing softness mixed with punchy warm accents. Just talking about it has me excited that Autumn is finally here again. If you want to see what all the fuss was about, you can click here to look at the dreamy photos of red and charcoal doing their thing in the bedroom. It was truly something.
Now, if red and charcoal have you smitten (and why wouldn’t they?), you’re more than welcome to rock this colour couple again in 2017. But before you decide on your Autumn shades, let me show you another sublime option. Because if you ask me, this season is all about blush and grey.
The added bonus is that you can win a prize pack in these gorgeous shades from my friends at Lorraine Lea. All the details are the end of this post. You’re welcome! 😉
Blush & Grey Decor Love this Autumn
The biggest selling point when it comes to blush and grey as a colour couple is that together, they’re the perfect blend of masculine and feminine. I always veer toward any aesthetic that achieves this sense of balance, because it makes your space feel well resolved. There’s a great contrast between the two shades but it’s not visually shocking. And in a space like a bedroom, nobody wants to be visually shocked!
The other bonus of blush and grey together is that you can control the dominant tone. Obsessed with pinks? Turn up the blush by rocking a bold feature wall. Or lay out a blanket across your bed like in the photo below. The Ultra Soft Blanket you see here is lightweight but wonderfully warm – and I love the embossing.
If grey is the colour you want to feature more of, go for it! Use dusty blush tones in accent pieces like bedside table accessories, or cosy cushions. Even a pop of pink flowers is a really nice touch against a grey backdrop. It’s all up to you!
Blush and Grey: Versatile and Easy to Introduce
Blush and grey are no wallflowers; they’re happy playing with just about every other colour in your home’s current palette.
They’ll work with black, white and beige. Plus you can introduce mint and indigo tones into the mix if you want to make the look more stimulating and visually varied.
In terms of other materials, warm metallics like copper and brass will work wonders with a blush and grey palette. As will both light blonde tones or moodier brown and black furniture.
It really is such a versatile colour combo. And if you look to pieces in these tones that feel cosy and tactile (like the Harper throw below; don’t you just want to touch it?), it’ll make the entire scene so cosy!
Hopefully your mind is as blown as mine is by the ravishing colour combo that is blush and grey. I love the sense of warmth it brings to a room. And as an avid fan of Autumn (I am so glad that summer is over!), I cannot wait to curl up under a blush blanket, grab a grey cushion and watch some trash TV. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is my current guilty pleasure. I won’t apologise for it – I’m hooked!

A subtle but elegant combination to transform any room into a stunning sanctuary. Who wouldn’t be happy to come home to these lovely Lorraine Lea pieces??
I already have blush and grey in my home but they’re not quality. Would love to update with the quality of Lorraine lea soft furnishings, they are amazing!
My home is lacking some texture and layering. I added some grey to my bedroom last year and love that these gorgeous products could add to the look I’ve been trying to achieve for a while, but haven’t quite mastered yet. My daughter’s name is Harper so she would also get a thrill out of informing everybody that the Harper range is named after her!
Such beautiful colours to help unwind and relax as the cooler weather heads towards us in the next couple of months. Amazing quailty that blends so well into any home xxx
All the products at Lorraine lea are so reliable. They are fantastic quality and last forever. They cater for everyone in the home and now are stocking fantastic decorative items as well. They are the whole package I love the textures they use!!
I’m in a mission to fill my house with Lorraine Lea Linen product! The quality and style is unbeatable. Blush and grey are my favourite combination, and so easy to accesorise with! They make it too easy to have a stylish decor! In a rental, I’m not able to have a pet, so having some fluffy amazingness like the Harper collection would make up for not having a snuggly kitty
I love these products and colours from Lorraine Lea because they remind me of my mum. Feminie, strong and complimentary of others. The blush colour combined with the beautiful textures of the throws and cushions create such a warm and loving space. These products are classy and sophisticated with a soft touch which is a vibe I want to surround myself with. These items together create such a lovely relaxing space, somewhere where I could curl up with a good book or magazine for hours. Definitely the perfect items to combine to any room.
These colours, textures and patterns would make any ‘house’ feel like a home. These would be an amazing start to building the foundations of my first home. With such a beautiful simple colour scheme, these are ideal for working with.
I’m more of a grey fan than pink, but the blush compliments the grey so beautifully. I would never have thought to put this combo together. Would match such a wide range of decor in any bedroom. Simple yet chic. Love it! Along with so many other wonderful products from Lorraine Lea. My wish list just keeps getting bigger and bigger. If only I had a bigger spending budget 😉
I love that they would go fabulously in my scandi/modern home!! omg! yes please…
Mad about blush at the moment and already own that lamp, so it must be a sign hehe…
