Last year on the blog I brought you 2016’s hottest colour couple; red and charcoal. It was a stunning combination of soothing softness mixed with punchy warm accents. Just talking about it has me excited that Autumn is finally here again. If you want to see what all the fuss was about, you can click here to look at the dreamy photos of red and charcoal doing their thing in the bedroom. It was truly something.
Now, if red and charcoal have you smitten (and why wouldn’t they?), you’re more than welcome to rock this colour couple again in 2017. But before you decide on your Autumn shades, let me show you another sublime option. Because if you ask me, this season is all about blush and grey.
The added bonus is that you can win a prize pack in these gorgeous shades from my friends at Lorraine Lea. All the details are the end of this post. You’re welcome! 😉
Blush & Grey Decor Love this Autumn
The biggest selling point when it comes to blush and grey as a colour couple is that together, they’re the perfect blend of masculine and feminine. I always veer toward any aesthetic that achieves this sense of balance, because it makes your space feel well resolved. There’s a great contrast between the two shades but it’s not visually shocking. And in a space like a bedroom, nobody wants to be visually shocked!
The other bonus of blush and grey together is that you can control the dominant tone. Obsessed with pinks? Turn up the blush by rocking a bold feature wall. Or lay out a blanket across your bed like in the photo below. The Ultra Soft Blanket you see here is lightweight but wonderfully warm – and I love the embossing.
If grey is the colour you want to feature more of, go for it! Use dusty blush tones in accent pieces like bedside table accessories, or cosy cushions. Even a pop of pink flowers is a really nice touch against a grey backdrop. It’s all up to you!
Blush and Grey: Versatile and Easy to Introduce
Blush and grey are no wallflowers; they’re happy playing with just about every other colour in your home’s current palette.
They’ll work with black, white and beige. Plus you can introduce mint and indigo tones into the mix if you want to make the look more stimulating and visually varied.
In terms of other materials, warm metallics like copper and brass will work wonders with a blush and grey palette. As will both light blonde tones or moodier brown and black furniture.
It really is such a versatile colour combo. And if you look to pieces in these tones that feel cosy and tactile (like the Harper throw below; don’t you just want to touch it?), it’ll make the entire scene so cosy!
Hopefully your mind is as blown as mine is by the ravishing colour combo that is blush and grey. I love the sense of warmth it brings to a room. And as an avid fan of Autumn (I am so glad that summer is over!), I cannot wait to curl up under a blush blanket, grab a grey cushion and watch some trash TV. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is my current guilty pleasure. I won’t apologise for it – I’m hooked!

These beautiful items make me blush at the thought of having a room make over. They are simply divine.
These accessories will go perfect with the Ashton I just received the other day! I love the new colours scheme this season has bought out and would tie my bedroom together perfectly.
I absolutely love the look of these Lorraine Lea products! The colour combination is really appealing as the grey is classic and calming and the blush is soft and soothing. I have a new grey couch and was actually looking for some grey and pink cushions and a throw, and couldn’t decide between a furry one or a weave one. If I won this, I wouldn’t have to choose!
Moving into our new home on a tight budget, last weekend we painted our room a beautiful grey. Did it ourselves and it looks beautiful. The Lorraine Lea colours and textures would fit beautifully in our bedroom, creating a warm ambience to relax in.
I just love this colour combo. I am in the process of introducing blush into my master bedroom. This prize pack could pull it all together just in time to snuggle up this winter.
This just goes to show your never to old for pink. Yet again Lorraine lea has created a range for all ages. From my 5 year old niece to my 92 year old grandmother. If I won I think there would be a fight with nan to keep any of it. Lol
Love the quality and colours available with lorraine lea! Blush and grey is my absolute favourite combo. So excited it’s being incorporated so beautifully for Autumn.
My other half and I have been bit-by-bit trying to update our little place with lots of weekend DIY blood-sweat-n-tears! Painting room by room when we can spare some cash for paint, picking up the odd affordable nick-nack here and there. We’re still massively sparsely furnished though! LOVE this blush & grey feature on your blog because we’ve recently turned the master bedroom walls a soft grey but then stopped short on the transformation, not knowing what to do next. Pretty sure there’s going to be some pink invading our room soon though! Cheers for the inspo!
P.S. THAT RUG THO.
The colour is so gorge, obviously, but those textures! To die! I used to be so afraid to layer textures because I’ve seen it done so wrong (remember blow up furniture and fluffy everything in the 90s? Ew). But this combination is so elegant without being too feminine.
My love and I are is desperate need of new homewares to blend our tastes (we moved in together recently and are creating our little love nest before we start a family). We just love this LL range!
Good luck everyone! May the blush be with you!
Wowee, I have never wanted to jump through my phone screen and dive into those throws and rub my face in those cushions like I do right now. Can you imagine, I mean, they literally look like heaven. We installed a new fireplace today and I am having sweet visions of myself curled up on that rug surrounded by all that Lorraine Lea fluffy goodness. Best colour combo too, love it!
