Last year on the blog I brought you 2016’s hottest colour couple; red and charcoal. It was a stunning combination of soothing softness mixed with punchy warm accents. Just talking about it has me excited that Autumn is finally here again. If you want to see what all the fuss was about, you can click here to look at the dreamy photos of red and charcoal doing their thing in the bedroom. It was truly something.
Now, if red and charcoal have you smitten (and why wouldn’t they?), you’re more than welcome to rock this colour couple again in 2017. But before you decide on your Autumn shades, let me show you another sublime option. Because if you ask me, this season is all about blush and grey.
The added bonus is that you can win a prize pack in these gorgeous shades from my friends at Lorraine Lea. All the details are the end of this post. You’re welcome! 😉
Blush & Grey Decor Love this Autumn
The biggest selling point when it comes to blush and grey as a colour couple is that together, they’re the perfect blend of masculine and feminine. I always veer toward any aesthetic that achieves this sense of balance, because it makes your space feel well resolved. There’s a great contrast between the two shades but it’s not visually shocking. And in a space like a bedroom, nobody wants to be visually shocked!
The other bonus of blush and grey together is that you can control the dominant tone. Obsessed with pinks? Turn up the blush by rocking a bold feature wall. Or lay out a blanket across your bed like in the photo below. The Ultra Soft Blanket you see here is lightweight but wonderfully warm – and I love the embossing.
If grey is the colour you want to feature more of, go for it! Use dusty blush tones in accent pieces like bedside table accessories, or cosy cushions. Even a pop of pink flowers is a really nice touch against a grey backdrop. It’s all up to you!
Blush and Grey: Versatile and Easy to Introduce
Blush and grey are no wallflowers; they’re happy playing with just about every other colour in your home’s current palette.
They’ll work with black, white and beige. Plus you can introduce mint and indigo tones into the mix if you want to make the look more stimulating and visually varied.
In terms of other materials, warm metallics like copper and brass will work wonders with a blush and grey palette. As will both light blonde tones or moodier brown and black furniture.
It really is such a versatile colour combo. And if you look to pieces in these tones that feel cosy and tactile (like the Harper throw below; don’t you just want to touch it?), it’ll make the entire scene so cosy!
Hopefully your mind is as blown as mine is by the ravishing colour combo that is blush and grey. I love the sense of warmth it brings to a room. And as an avid fan of Autumn (I am so glad that summer is over!), I cannot wait to curl up under a blush blanket, grab a grey cushion and watch some trash TV. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is my current guilty pleasure. I won’t apologise for it – I’m hooked!

I have been meaning to have a Lorraine Lea party and this has pretty much convinced me I should! I would love this pack for my little girls nursery as I don’t want to style it too cutsey and this would be both feminine and beautiful which makes it perfect
As I just bought my first home budgets are tight. This range of Loraine lea would go perfectly in my new place. Decorating has never been my forte’, so knowing I’ll have these two beautiful colours I can then work the rest of my decorating around these colours. I can just imagine the blush and charcoal cushions on my brand new grey lounge. Winning this price would mean the world to me 🙂
I actually have the grey and pink palette starting in my house – I’m finding having a base of grey means you can swap out the key colours so the style is nice and flexible. Textures aren’t something I’ve really explored yet – I think this new LL range really makes it easy to see that having colours plus textures can be quite a simple fix to lifting a room!
did i just die? i grew up with a mum as a seamstress and she used to make mini make overs in my room for my birthday. i would come home and it would be a new world. i now have a daughter and i would love to do the same for her. so technically I’m re-gifting but I’m sure you are ok with that. she has a gold pink dome hand me down light from the 70s that used to hang in my parentals bedroom….pink and grey and gold. yup dead. love
ps my mamma also made me a pink furry accept just like that when i was 12. i was so before my time. and also. insane walking around stockholm in that thing when people only really wear grey and beige and black.
the end. dead.
I want to rub my face all over the Faux Cow Hide Floor Rug and Harper Cushion and Throw – the texture of the material looks so inviting and snuggley. Remove make up before rubbing 😉
So in love love the way you can mix and match and from the bedroom to the kitchen and bathroom so many options for everyone, for there special room in there home
I love the convenience of lorriane lee for i dont get alot of time to go shopping.
I love that you can make shopping a social catchup with friends. I love the colours and the range of products but most of all i love the feeling of hoping into bed with that crisp clean feeling of clean bed linen.
These luxurious blush and grey products are exactly what I need to bring my baby room together! I am in love and picturing it now as my baby is due in less than a month now and I would love to hold him wrapped up in such a warm and beautiful throw snuggled up in my arms. I am truely overwelmed by the quality and beauty of these products by Lorraine Lea I love it!
i love this palette. The colours alone are a perfect balance, blush and pinks would never have even been considered in my house but i love how the grey balances out the blush and creates a unisex, calming look. The textures of the Lorraine Lea cushions just make me feel cosy and luxe which i would love to have on my new couch at home! I love not only the colours, textures and obvious quality of the products but they are also faux – which is awesome in my books 🙂
Wow! I love the texture of the cushions and how the light reflects from it. Also, the pop of gold on of the triangles as it adds that special “wow” factor to the blush and grey.
